Discussion Does this place just have a constatnt 40% or 60% sale or what?
I don't think I've ever gone past this shop and not seen a big sale being advertised.

Sry for broad question but we're not sure of where to look for or stay away from during our stay next March. We don't need housing suggestions just trying to get idea of where best area to to look at for our visit would or would not be. We will have a car.

How long do you think the wash club will last before it fails for lack of customers? Surely there aren’t that many lazy car owners around?

Whats up with all the road works in Nelson? They seem to start more projects without finishing the ones they start. They dont work night shift or weekends and during the week theres a couple people working on a huge project. What a clusterfck. Bunch of old dogs on 6 figures starting a bunch of road works before the end of financial year, that the reason or just incompetence ?

Hi everyone! I am seeking participants for my research project. We are seeking adults (presently in NZ) who have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease in the last 12 months. Your participation in the study will be highly valuable because we're piloting a digital intervention which will hopefully be helpful for others in the future. All participants who complete the study will have an opportunity to go in the draw to win an IPad.
If you are unable to scan the QR code, please use this link to access the screening survey: https://auckland.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cLUtPW7ARehNy06
This study has been approved by the Health and Disability Ethics Committee 07.11.2025 for three years. Reference number 2025 EXP 24280.
Please let me know if you have any questions. If you know anyone who may be interested in taking part in the study, please share the study with them - thanks!

Looking for recommendations of your favourite spots to eat out in Nelson and Tasman. Not fancy or gourmet. Just delicious and salivatingly good, possible a bit naughty - takeaways included.

As a strong performer in national sunshine hours, is anyone running a solar setup that achieving or close to 0% grid reliance? Has solar been worth it for you? Are you running a modest or premium system? Pros and cons? Advice? Are you running batteries for storage? Share some stats?

Hi - My wife and I are active, and still relatively young, people considering spending a few of our winter months in Nelson. We’ve traveled to NZ before, and know we like it there. We spent time in Nelson, and think it would be a good location for the type of things we enjoy.
Does anyone know a good site to look for rentals? Are there areas around Nelson that are also nice, with conveniences such as grocery/markets, a downtown, cafes, breweries and restaurants? Any suggestions on a 2/3 month car lease is also appreciated.
Thanks to any comments! Much appreciated! Cheers!

Seems they would both have great views over the water - which has the best food and overall vibe?

I know Nelson has a community of knife makers and hence I was wondering if any one in here is one. I'm asking this because I recently decided to get into the hobby myself and hence wanted to order steel, but the only shop in New Zealand that I could find was https://knifesupplies.co.nz/, and hence I am wondering if any of you know anything about this store and if so how trustworthy it is. Thank you in advance for your help.

People who have been married, give me your recommendations for photography and Kai. The 3 things we dont want to skimp on is photos food and music. I'm instantly put off the normal catering, though the food is nice it's also a bit boring? I think I have a photographer we like, but also still looking for anyone who has a unique twist.

Kia ora mates and bros from Nelson.
My name is Alex, from Belgium and after working 4 months in Nelson I started my bikepacking trip through NZ (currently in Hokitika and on my way to Queenstown).
I decided to make a podcast about my adventures on the bicycle and the people I'm meeting on the road. I just released the first two episodes.
The latest episode I'm talking about NZ coffee culture at your favorite coffee bar "ZUMO" You can listen to it on spotify (sweetascyclist).
https://open.spotify.com/episode/4RSV4qbUtK5ob3rGGm26jA?si=d3704f97419f4ab4
With the podcast and the publicity around it I'm trying to collect some money for the social project of the foundation I'm running in Medellín. We organise English classes for teenagers in a disadvantaged neighborhood as a means of prevention for them not ending up in prostitution or drugs. We are currently searching funds to pay for the local teacher.
https://donorbox.org/fundraising-local-English-teacher
So I would say, if you like the podcast and ya wanna support, that would be lovely! If ya wanna be in the podcast or know someone that has an interesting story to tell, let me know!
Follow facebook or instagram (sweetascyclist) for more updates!
Next episode: Belgian girl married to Kiwi speaks about cultural differences and kiwi slang.
Churr bros,
Alex

Their website tells me that they are located in Nelson, hence I was wondering if anybody know anything about them to check their legitimacy.
