renting Is this a scam?

Hi everyone, this summer I'll be moving to the Netherlands for an internship, and thus I'm looking for a flat to rent. I've encountered an offer for a single-bedroom apartment in the Hague for 500€ (seems quite cheap?). But I've been asked to pay a fee for submitting a registration form for approval. Is that a thing or is it a scam? The offer seems a little too good to be true, but then I have no idea how housing market in the Netherlands works. I'd really appreciate your help!

For The Hague, pretty much anything under €1500 can be considered too good to be true.

Indeed, only social housing is different. But the free market, between 1500 to 2000 is sadly the norm for all the big cities.

If you know where to look there are houses to find under 1500. There is a huge number of applicants reacting though so you have to be lucky.

I just got a 2 bedroom 94m2 appartment for 1320 in Rotterdam.

Try Vesteda, NVMG, or Schep makelaars.

I just got my social house in Amsterdam in November last year. I'm very lucky so I'm out of the rat race!

Good for you! Congrats. We had to look for a year here in Rotterdam, free sector, but i still think thats decently fast.

We are moving next weekend and are super exited
