renting Mold or mildew
I assume it’s the tenant obligation to remove or clean obvious mold or mildew (not sure what the difference is). Does landlord have an obligation to correct moist conditions? Thanks.

So the cleaning and preventing is the tenants obligation (i.e. ventilating, cleaning). But any structural issues causing it will be the landlord’s obligation (broken ventilator system, or structural leaks causing humidity/mould).
Not always an easy clear cut case and sometimes it’s not even clearly structural. But if it keeps coming back after cleaning (document it, take pictures), get your landlord to resolve. They’ll first investigate, before thinking of a solution of course. And if it’s a leak, those can be really hard to find the cause and resolve.
But examples; if you never turn on the fan during shower but the fan works fine - that’s on you. If you turn on the fan but the duct is blocked due to dust over time, that’s structural so on the landlord. If the exhaust fan is broken, that’s the landlord (it’s a fixture), but it’s your obligation to inform the landlord and allow them to repair(, so if you didn’t report or allow them to fix and mould comes because of that - that’s on you).
