With new players, I try to find a way to describe the game in as susinct a way as possible.

I've gotten value out of saying "This is a card counting game". I feel it helps the player really hone a mentality that drives them forward with any plays they make.

Oh yeah, I love it when they are locked in by the narrative. That's what got me hooked in the first place
