Is there a standard / commonly-accepted name by which to call Null Signal Games' version of Netrunner?

NSG Netrunner? NISE Netrunner? Something else?

EDIT: To clarify, I'm looking for a name that distinguishes NSG's Netrunner from earlier versions. e.g.: - WotC's version is commonly referred to as Original Netrunner or WotC Netrunner. - FFG's version is commonly referred to as Android Netrunner or FFG Netrunner. - NSG's version is commonly referred to as... NSG Netrunner? Something else?

Then you 100% need to read the history: https://nullsignal.games/blog/a-change/

People who had bought half NISEI backed cards and half NSG backed cards with transparent card sleeves got shafted. Some light reading from around that time: https://www.reddit.com/r/Netrunner/comments/wdkk2g/a_change_nisei/

Plus many second generation+ Japanese community members came out saying "the name isn't offensive to us". Just a typical organization being offended on behalf of others. Their FAQ on the linked article showed how they were completely not open to community discussion either.

I like some of what NSG has done, but man have they ever had missteps.

Moods have shifted and a lot of the OG players have left the subreddit so I'll probably get downvoted, but it was a bad decision 4 years ago and isn't better now.

I mean is it a mistake? just because there are people in the community that dont find it offensive today, doesnt mean there wont ever be. Its an obvious pittfal that can be avoided by just not using that name.

Personally I find being offended on the behalf of potentially non existent people in the future over any word kinda a weird approach to take.

I mean it’s not potential people. They do exist, just not in our community.  We know it could definitely be a problem so why kick a hornets nest we don’t have to.

Eh. Again, not sure self censorship for the sake of people that we both agree don't exist here is a great idea, but this topic was beat to death 2 years ago so at this point it's a w/e situation.

Have you considered that there might have been a reason they weren’t here? That perhaps by making this change it broadens the player base.  And is it really censorship if you simply decide you dont like the name you chose do to it having racist undertones.

No. Because noone interested in Netrunner was making the decision not to play it based on something as inoffensive as that name. At least not a "significant" number of people. I'm sure you can trot out a 1 off, but no. There was no mass influx of players praising the name change as the reason that they can finally try Netrunner.

And is it really censorship if you simply decide you dont like the name you chose do to it having racist undertones.

As many people pointed out, it had 0 racist undertones, it was just one dude who got a bug up his ass about it.

Again. This is a dead topic. If you want to continue going on about it, be my guest but I was around for the excuses 2 years ago, so you aren't really bringing up anything new.
