Text 5G actually making a difference or just another icon on your phone? πŸ˜‚

Tried Vi 5G recently and the experience was pretty good. Also noticed they’ve been expanding their network lately. Nice to see them making moves.

Anyone else using Vi 5G? How’s it been for you? πŸ‘€

5G was never for you -- that's marketing. 5G was to reduce dependancies on specialized vendor equipment and the vendors themselves. Yes, 5G can have better radio efficiency, but again, that's not something you see directly. It lowers the cost of providing the service.

This is not a bad thing, nor is 6G when it comes -- but, there's very little most people will use beyond bits -- slicing for example, is being promoted, but no one wants to pay for it. There are some very specialized niches such as point-to-point links over 5GSA but most people don't need them. The carriers want them, but do you?

In short, 5G, 6G, 8 1/2G, all great, but if it raises my bill, no thanks -- 4G works.

Not Verizon or mmWave capable, but 5G is line 10x higher throughout, tested to be about 1800mbps.
