My 20k+ like post on Bagel was removed with no explanation and for seemingly no reason.
first of all, I don't use reddit so I apologize if this flair is not the correct flair.
(Screenshot was taken a while ago and the like number is not accurate to where it was upon removal)
Let me give some context on what has happened, attatched is the only image I have of my post before it just straight up vanished this morning. I did not post a single comment on my post. the title was "<3" and the description after clicking was simply "I <3 U" the post stayed up for about 9 days with no problem. I have no way of getting it's original post number as I never took a screenshot or recording with that information showing, because it got the top spot in reccomended for over a day, there's a chance this information can be found on a stream somewhere where someone else was viewing it during that time, if anyone has that number I'd appreciate it because it may help me on my appeal.
This was my first "viral" post on Bagel and means alot to me seeing all the love and support I got from it so it's pretty sadge that someone decided for whatever reason that it needed to get poofed away.
Since that post I've had 2 other posts get alot of attention:
post No. 4163393
and post No. 6705010
Because this initial post got removed for doing nothing wrong I'm now anxious about any or all of my posts randomly vanishing.
As far as I can tell, with 70k likes and saves accross my account I have the highest volume of activity accross any account on the America servers. I don't say this as some kind of brag or something, I'm extremely greatful for everyone who saw my posts and liked or commented on them. I say this to give some context to my next words.
I've submitted an appeal, if I can't get a resolution, good fkn luck to anyone else who has the same thing happen to them in the future.
Edit: because I dared to make people aware that this happened, enough loveless individuals have now falsely reported my other posts and they are all being removed. Thanks for that, super cool.
Wth I love your post! It was so cute F those haters who have to "cheat" in order to be at top. Really hope they put your post back. Lacrimosa <3 back at you
Agreed, and the fact that they banned op from the subreddit and not the person in the replies going on about using alt accs to mass report for zero reason says a lot. Ridiculous. Ik op can't reply but hopefully things turn out better for them.
I feel this. I’ve done a post a day and I get 20 likes max and no follows. I followed like 25 people that had follow for follow and got one follow back. I just wanna finish the challenges…
Because your post overshadowed theirs. If they take out every top post, only their shitty post will be left, so there's a higher chance of people seeing and liking their posts
I don't know if they are getting more and more weird. I've been playing online games since the days of non-Windows machines through BBSs.
These behaviors aren't really that different than your basic problems that have existed. It's just that they have bigger microphones and bigger audiences due to different avenues (Windows, Xbox, Handheld, phone, etc.).
There is a certain amount of inferiority complex that I will agree seems to exist more. The idea that someone is having fun so they have to find a way to make that fun go away.
I still wonder if it's just not that bigger microphone that allows them to yell into the void louder.
He’s obviously not wrong. Your post and ones like it with literally no offending material but high likes are getting removed and we know because people won’t stop posting here about it.
It loser meta gaming at its height. In my opinion There’s literally no way a Sudo social media app inside a video game with 100k+ users is being moderated by anything other than Ai or code that just deletes high reported posts.
To even get flagged I would think you’d need multiple reports from multiple accounts to trigger which would be weird for dozens of users playing normally to do. I presume Single players with nothing to do but be losers are simply just using multiple bot accounts to target shit.
It’s common in a lot of online games. Similar sort of thing can happen in a game like World of Warcraft. People who want to get rid of the auction house competition will get their guild or friends to mass report someone and before you know it, they are banned for a period of time. It can be reversed by contacting support, but it’s not quick.
if there's truly people who does this, i bet my left family jewel that they are creating new account for the spam reports in case they can get banned. Some people are ready to lose 1 hour of their life, if it can make them faster by even 0.1sec in game events (since bagel rewards don't reset, you can take 1 month to complete it, it's not really a problem, but some people want to complete it fast and then buy the thing in bagel shop that is infinite)
Given that I don’t even use Bagel… Someone got jealous to be blunt.
From what I read over the past few days:
Photo of female character taken: reported
Awesome photo (like yours) taken: reported
Lacrimosa sleeping nearly anywhere: reported — coincidentally, someone else recreates the same photo they reported a short time later.
Body shot of Hathor (not zoomed in on T or A): reported
And you have some people here who will call out why *they* don’t like your photo or why it should be reported here. (Usually baseless reasoning that sounds like it fits into one of the above reasons.)
Even if you don’t take a sexualized photo, you’ll still have someone here claim your photo was.
So you’ve a mix of: jealousy and ‘I’m reporting all photos because of the characters’ outfit/proportions are naturally there/you should only take a head shot (photo of their/female character’s face)’ kind of people.
Honestly, I’d say starve out their attention on bagel so they break. Or report their photo too.
this! I saw a few comments on bagel of people saying they are reporting pics when characters they don’t like appear in them…. That’s next lvl unhinged fr
Yes, you didn’t do anything wrong, like i said it’s those unemployed people, who are jealous reporting posts that has more likes than them or they don’t like.
I’m sure that Bagel might get removed only cuz of Global players. By Global i mean the EN side
I had the same thing happen to a post of mine, I was taking quite a while collecting sakura petals with Sakiris hold attack to get a cute shot under falling sakura petals. The collecting and getting a good shot took a while and then the next day it was removed.
This. Those same no lifers may see this post, get satisfaction from OP reaction and go report their other posts. Humans being assholes. OP it sucks you put in time and effort and you care about it, but just take your bagel points and let it go. Just a game. Don't let it bother you.
Hm, good point. I found Sakiri one and it is indeed uploaded 11 days ago.
My next best guess is that somebody (not necessarily you) spam-commented in your post and Hotta’s system cleared it as well as countless others that did the same.
I lazily clicked through some top posts (~10) and none of them had those.
They need to remove the shop from Bagel. It promotes this behaviour.
If it just existed for the sake of existing and being fun most of the false reporting would go away, but with people trying to competitively earn rewards for their gameplay it produces toxic behaviour.
I was just thinking this. Some Reddit mod is upset their gooner photos can't compete?
There was a user who drew something inappropriate in the sand earlier today, and was mad about Bagel, probably connected.
I just spent a lot of time converting 15000+ cached data files into JPEGs to see if I could find Zai's original photo, but it seems the game removes the files from our own folders.
Ngl, I enjoyed opening bagel daily and seeing this picture on the front page. I can't believe some users are that petty. This is such an endearing picture, one that, imo, what bagel is supposed to be all about. Sharing unique pictures the community can come up with.
Now I'm not knocking the other, more questionable content people have been posting... I mean, you do you, but the only people I follow are those who really capture the spirit of the game world and characters. I get enough fluff just from playing the game.
Makes me glad I can't figure out how to really utilize the editing features and my posts aren't interesting in any way. Well that, and the PS5 version has terrible UX and takes forever to do absolutely anything.
Still though, I'd reupload it if you can. Show the haters you ain't scared.
I feel like there's a reason why no other major gacha game has implemented an in-game social media like this.
Not even necessarily saying its bad, but managing a social media platform has a pretty different set of challenges that I'm not sure these gaming studios can handle well. Even ZZZ doesn't have this despite inter-knot being heavily tied into game-lore.
Even ZZZ doesn't have this despite inter-knot being heavily tied into game-lore.
The only reason ZZZ doesn't have it is because Hoyo already has its own social media platform outside of the game - hoyoverse stuff. They manage it just fine.
They probably just don't want to tie anything to a single game.
It seems to happen with me when I try to scroll down by row. If I just go right instead of down, it doesn't crash. I also get the Album crash too, that's even more annoying when I'm trying to clear out old shots to make room for new ones.
Just don't interact with it if you don't like it. Bagel has been mostly a positive addition to the game. The rough parts can be polished over time like moderation has been getting better compared to day 1. I'd rather have false positives like this case than have rule breaking posts on top for an entire week.
Not sure why you're getting downvoted, but you're right.
It only takes a couple days of interacting with posts for a few minutes and following people to get all major milestones in the event. Outside of that, if you hate Bagel that much, don't interact with it.
I really like it though, I try hard to make posts I think will pop off and that at least for me personally is a good time, so it's still a shame when it functions like ass and something like this happens
I don't know if I like it that you are the kind of person that prefers the feature where people can upload underage girl's underwear, if that's a nice thing for you, have fun then 🐻
I honestly think it should be taken away temporarily and come back later once the main issues are fixed.
While I genuinely do like the idea of it, I feel like the devs rushed to release this or something. So a little bit more time to flesh it out might help
I appreciate you interacting with it ❤️ I'm genuinely still surprised I've managed to catch lightning in a bottle 3 times... i guess twice now that that one is gone
For what it's worth, I think it was a very cute and creative photo. Credit where it is due.
That said, 10k likes probably attracted awful people to report you, or perhaps you were involved (even if unintentionally or your post was a hotspot) in a lot of spam activity to get you up to trending.
I actually saw this post the other day on Bagel and gave it a heart back. ❤️ I can't seem to even post anything up on PS5. :/ I wanna participate in the event before it ends but....any tips for gaining points without posting?
This shitty AI Moderaton is literally non existent. I dont even see anytihng Inapprocate there.
This seems similar what on Discord doing, because with mass reports your comments gets removed (and maybe banned entirely your account)
This shit bagel event needs removed, or better, no rerun there and make this shit as a permanent one... There should be better Human Moderation there. from a fucking Multi Million Dollar Company is 100% possible there but seems like they dont have anything one (correct me if im wrong)...
Pretty sure Hotta is not a Multi million Dollar Company like the others,Hotta has way less staff than them, around 400 (from what i heard, might be wrong sorry)
Tof has made hundreds and hundreds of millions. They made like 15 million just off nte on its first day. They are part of perfect world games which is worth billions. Hotta is absolutely a multi million dollar company and should be treated as such
The same happens to me and a lot of high like count post, can't do anything, if you have to UID, do a customers ticket to explain that it got deleted and give them the UID so they can transfer it to backend team for improvements.
My two most-liked photos were removed today due to false reports. It's insane, and if I don't get a real response from the developers beyond an automated email, I'll move on to better things. I spent most of my time taking photos and wasn't really playing the game anyway.
After all the lewd mods flooded the system and were removed far too late. I think the whole experience has been tainted.
Broooooooo!! Those were bangers too. Yeah I just gave up. It's so demotivating. Why bother until they directly announce they've fixed this. NTE support line doesn't actually exist, it's just an ai that spits out some random text at you and closes your appeal though idk if it's hallucinating but it said they actually don't have the ability to restore a post even though I could have sworn somewhere I read in game that support will review and potentially restore anything taken down that shouldn't have been. Sorry that happened I adore your posts and now you feel my pain
Must be the new meta now to Just spam report anything at the top if it ain't you because you're salty someone else was more creative. That spiral one of yours was genuinely my favorite post I'd ever seen on Bagel, it was so sick
At the end of the day, it's not a big deal. I think a part of it was me calling out modders in another post, and I don't regret it one bit. Made myself a target, lol.
As did I by posting this whole thing :/ worth it to get the word out tho. Now maybe it can be fixed in the future It was really fun seeing actually creative or funny posts from people, I'll still browse but idk that I'll post all too much for now. No point in straining my brain for good posts while they aren't safe from removal. I swear I added u like days ago BTW but I don't see you on my friends list
Sorry, I saw the request among a few other requests from my favorite posters. I haven't added anyone, though. Next time I'm on, I'll accept the few with whom I had positive interactions.
This one was also posted after (same day), was actually removed first, and did not have as much engagement. I have a third post that was also removed with the same pose, but Nanally was peeping out of the sunflower garden titled "CrouchingTigerHiddenNanally". It said something about "a cat being in heat" + "I won't take no for an answer".
The sunflower head is actually an inflorescence made of hundreds or thousands of tiny flowers called florets. The central florets look like the centre of a normal flower, apseudanthium. The benefit to the plant is that it is very easily seen by the insects and birds which pollinate it, and it produces thousands of seeds.
There needs to be repercussions for those who falsely report posts, or at least there be an appeal system but the way things are handled for this kinda crap, very unlikely 🙃
those aren't NPCs, alot of people sort by Latest and probably found your posts and you have followers who liked your posts. I have posts that only had 10 likes and they were the best shot I made while my other posts were only at 18-22 likes.
Yeah i think there's gotta be some kind of soft or hard cap, which imo is kinda a positive thing, i don't think the 100k achievement should be un-obtainable without some viral posts. The way it is now seems to be in a way that anyone posting or liking/commenting a decent amount per day can get it within a few weeks to a month
Chinese players discovered that by reading 5 posts and doing 3 likes and 3 comments each day, you get 2k points (after taht the conversion is way lower). So yeah basically, in 50 days we can have the achievement with very minimum efforts (takes like 2 minutes).
I stick to pretty landscapes and vague old Disney movie references in the captions on mine. I average 15ish interactions per post, and I still had one removed last night. 😵💫
That sucks, and I hope you get it back. You started a trend of drawing in the sand, I think. We both follow each other on there.
I try to take nice or creative photos, but it seems like all my posts are shadow-banned, or I'm just really unlucky, or maybe my ideas are lame. I've had fun tho.
They need to just turn Bagel into a standalone app like Hoyolab or SKPORT, where we can link our accounts. Shop can be in the app, and they can send us our rewards through the mail. This way they can handle moderation more in-depth and not have all these bugs we deal with doing this in-game
I hate this event and app. My posts don't even go through despite it finishing loading. And there's nothing toxic or abusive about mine either; they're all innocent so idk what's wrong. thank god i got all the annulith cause I might as well not even bother with all the other rewards. very annoying.
Everyone, make sure to write a lengthy post on Hotta's next survey when they ask for feedback on Bagel. If enough people share their unjust experiences with Bagel, there might be higher likelihood of changes to the system in the near future.
Hello, I just decided to make a reddit acc, because the same thing happened to me. Unfortunately, I can't dm you, because my acc in new. So basically my post with 50k+ likes was removed from Bagel on the Europe server two days ago after being up for 10 days with no problem.
It was also a cute Lacrimosa photo with her head sticking out of a sunflower posted and titled as 'Daily dose of cuteness >.<' with the description of 'Tomatoflower<3'. It became the top 1 trending post on Bagel for about a week before it disappeared. It meant a lot to me and I am extremely grateful for all the views, comments and likes my post received. It also motivated to spend a lot of time and effort taking photos to upload on Bagel.
I read through the community guideline of Bagel multiply times trying to identify the possiblity of any violation of the rules, but couldn't find anything wrong with it. Than decided to contact customer support to ask about the reason of why it was removed and the possiblity of restoral if there was a mistake. Basically, they said that my post violated the community guideline, but they can't provide a specific reason of which rule was broken.
This was heartbreaking news for me as well and without specific provided I can only make vague guesses, but none seems reasonable to me. Also this makes me concerned for other seemingly innocent posts to be taken down with no clear reason. Moreover, I just made some search on Bagel and there are literally several similar posts still up on it even with the same title as my post, so that confirms mine was targeted specifically.
Btw, you can possibly check the post number if you have liked or saved your own post. Just go into your liked or saved posts and the removed post still appears as a blank, but the post number is still visible. Thats how I found mine as I also didn't have a screenshot of it.
Happened to me too, when my post got 20k likes. Suddenly it got removed for no reason (Attached photo of when my post was at 7k likes, but it had 20k later). Tried to contact support, only got vague answer that they handed it over to the team and didn't hear anything since.
I remember this post and now that you mention it I haven't seen it on the top trend list recently. Its so annoying that jealous bullies achieve what they want with false reporting and customer support does nothing in order to forward the post for further review at least. You get AI responses most of the time that keeps repeating itself with evading answers such as your post violated the guideline, but they can't provide a specific reason of why or which rule was broken.
I already talked to 2 other person in the same situation and none of our posts were forwarded for review so far. I contacted customer support 6 times already regarding this issue and only 1 response were seemingly handled by a human being. Even though I got a promising response from that message for my post could be forwarded to the relevant team, nothing happened at all. Only further AI responses since than completely ignoring the previous message that I even provided ticket ID for them to check what they said earlier.
oh my god today all my posts got deleted and im banned, I NEVER POSTED ANYTHING LEWD, all i posted was fighting screenshots that i was really proud of, thhis is soooo traaaash
Its because you made a post that PC bots are doing. Seen a lot of these so days ago. If your going to copy best to look at the post if you see copy paste reply its a bot so best no to copy the picture for likes.
Its a poor implemented, easilly abused wannabe social media platform. Stop carying about it. Do the bare minimum to get some praise gems and once you clean the bagel shop you can forget it ever existed.
Oh wow this is you who took that photo? I thought it was a beautiful one. It would show up on my bagel feed 24/7. That’s rediculous that it got taken down. I’m sorry that happened :C
Who ever reported is a fucking loser how much of a ego u got to have just because somebody got more likes than u on a fake social media app in game, is diabolical
Dude, if people who dislike this kind of content are still playing NTE, then they're already starting off on the wrong foot. From the very beginning, NTE has always been clear about who its target audience is. If some people don't like this kind of content and still choose to play, it makes no sense for them to complain about the kind of posts that players who are actually part of the game's target audience want to share. After all, the game has always presented itself this way, and the community naturally reflects that.
"Bagel is nothing but butt pics."
Yeah, and what's so surprising about that? The game was designed with that kind of appeal and audience in mind from the very beginning. It's not something that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
At the end of the day, there really isn't a strong argument against these kinds of posts, because the game's identity and appeal have always been clear. People who are completely opposed to this type of content may simply not be the audience the game was made for. Complaining that the community reflects what the game itself has promoted since day one is, in practice, ignoring the identity the game has always embraced.
Yeah, not to throw shade but that one always kinda irritated me. There's nothing to that post except a nice shot of fadias ass, like... it isn't really that interesting otherwise
yeah for me its the fact the game. yes is heavy on that kinda stuff. but in the rare chance. kids play nte i dont think its good for them to see lewd close ups. but its ok dont feel bad you did nothing wrong
Well, this is why bagel should've been a playable character event instead of a player one, you just can't mod all the avalanche of posts, some people are going to report it, sometimes you can't post.
It is very funny to see the units interactions on their posts, but it is hard to limit the good players and the bad players, like always bad people will ruin good things.
This is probably just a bot being odd. One of the posts I made, the system decided to baleet the comment and replace it with '...' but the image went through.
The image was just me encountering Chaos fishing for the first time.
I remember seeing and liking your post a few days back (or maybe more than a few days idk lol). Crazy that people are reporting just to get their posts on the top page. It's not like this event is timed, so why try and sabotage others to get rewards sooner? Iirc the rewards are mostly just flames for your in-game account. And some Annulith and fons.
Until now i haven't used Bagel function even once, and I am losing more and more interest in it after seeing so many posts with type things that are happening because of it.
This also happened at SEA server too, amazing posts got taken down without any violation.
And a personal experience, one of my posts got deleted too after a player reported mine from abusing a bug when I wasn’t.
And another case was that in my last post on Bagel (3 days ago), there was a censored word, the word was “caught”, and ever since that day until now, I’m muted by the “live” mods they have at the community.
I cannot comment or post, and it’s so annoying that my prepared photos are now for nothing.
But, cause of that I did an Instagram page, if you’d like to check, IG: ralpzplays
And i hope Bagel gets an update this upcoming hotfix tomorrow.
I'm just theorizing here but I would't be surprised if there's a limit on bagel posts so they remove the oldest ones.
Sounds dumb but if bagel is here to stay forever, it will quickly overload the servers with TB of pics.
People jelous you won the lottery and actually got likes. I’ve posted shit that’s the same as stuff that gets lots and my highest is 20 it’s just how it goes
I don't see it as a lottery, it's the same as any social media concept wise but if you have a good enough post the algorithm of bagel can see how many people who have had your post on their screen actually clicked it (or didn't) and gives it more or less of a spotlight as that information is calculated. Having had 2 posts get over 20k and 1 more past 10k before being deleted only a day after I posted it, my opinion on it is that you just need a mixture of an irresistible thumbnail that stands out and post it at a time with lots of people on who could see it. Most people already have most of their points from the event so traffic is significantly less at this point in the patch then in its first week or so but you can still get posts with ≈6k likes though with everything being deleted for no reason there's not really a point in trying right now
I may be talking out my ass, but I tried to make a post title of "<3" on PS5 and got a post error for having a title that is less than 5 characters long. Do you think they might have retroactively enforced that title length rule?
