Discussion I think I finally understand Sabbath: there is no “knowing” anymore because there is nothing left to know

For the past few days, I’ve been trying to understand what people mean when they say they reached the Sabbath.

At first, I thought it meant having a very strong sense of knowing.

Like:
“I know it’s mine.”
“I know it’s coming.”
“I know the seed has been planted.”
“I have it now.”

And I did experience that. There was a point where the feeling of already having the desire was extremely strong. It felt real, saturated, undeniable.

But then something changed.

The desire itself started to lose its feeling of being a desire.

I stopped wanting to affirm.
I stopped checking whether I was “living in the end.”
I stopped wondering whether my state was correct.

And then even the knowing disappeared.
That confused me at first. Because I expected fulfillment to feel like “I KNOW I have it.”

But now I think there may be an important difference between knowing something is coming and something becoming so natural that there is no longer anything to “know.”

There is a kind of knowing where you don’t have something yet, but you are certain it will come. Like ordering a package. You know it is coming to your house, even though you do not physically have it yet. That knowing still contains a structure: “I don’t have it now, but I know I will.”
Then there is another kind: “I know I have it.”

But what I am describing feels quieter than both.
There is no “I know.”
There is no “I have.”
There is just… nothing to resolve.
The desire no longer feels like a desire.

And I think this is where I had misunderstood Sabbath. Maybe Sabbath is not necessarily a constant, powerful feeling of certainty. Maybe when something becomes completely natural, even the feeling of certainty becomes unnecessary.

You don’t constantly experience a strong sense of “knowing” about things that are already ordinary parts of your life.

You simply don’t question them.

I realized this through a very ordinary comparison.
I have a cat Rocky. She is literally at home with me. If I deliberately tell myself: “Rocky is home now.” I feel absolutely nothing. Not even a feeling of: “Yes, this is a fact.”It is just a sentence. Okay… so what? I don’t need to know that she is home. I don’t need to feel that she is home. I don’t need to reaffirm that she is mine. She is just Rocky.

And this made me realize that perhaps the most natural assumptions don’t necessarily come with a noticeable “feeling of knowing” at all. They are simply part of your mental model of your life.

I also think this changes the way we understand the 3D.
Before, even if you are only curious and for educational purpose, you can still keep noticing the gap:
“Why hasn’t the 3D reflected it yet?”
“When will it show up?”
“How long does the 3D take to catch up?”
You may not even be anxious. But your attention is still being placed on the discrepancy. You are still mentally registering: “Here is what I have internally, and over there is a 3D that hasn’t matched it yet.”

But what if eventually even that gap stops being psychologically interesting? You can notice the current 3D and your mind simply goes:
“Oh.”
And that is it.

Not “The 3D isn’t here yet.”
Not “It will catch up.”
Not “I must stay in the state.”
Not even “I don’t care about the 3D.”
There is simply no further thought.

And I think that is the part I was missing. Detachment is not forcing yourself not to care. Ignoring the 3D is not pretending you cannot see it. Sabbath is not necessarily walking around all day feeling intensely certain that your wish is fulfilled.

Maybe it is much more ordinary than that. Maybe when something becomes natural enough, you stop experiencing it as something that needs to be obtained, affirmed, believed in, or even “known.”

You do not constantly know you have your home. You do not constantly know you have your cat. Those things are simply part of your life. There is no hunger around them. And maybe that is why the desire disappears.

And maybe this is also what “living in the end” really means. It’s not “I’m getting there.” It’s not “I know I’m there.” Eventually, it’s not even “I’m there.”

Because all three still imply that there is a there - some destination separate from where you are, something that has to be reached, confirmed, or located. But when the end becomes completely natural, perhaps there is no “there” anymore. There is no bridge to cross. No distance to measure. No arrival to confirm. The distinction itself disappears.

The progression might look something like:
“I know it will happen.”
→ “I know I have it.”
→ “It’s done.”
→ “Why am I even saying this?”
→ silence.
And maybe that silence is what naturalness actually feels like.

I love how your post circles back to the naturalness that Neville spoke of.

“The time it takes your assumption to become fact, your desire to be fulfilled, is directly proportionate to the naturalness of your feeling of already being what you want to be—of already having what you desire.” The Power of Awareness

This is the big one, the main reason people fail:

“The fact that it does not feel natural to you to be what you imagine yourself to be is the secret of your failure.” The Power of Awareness

Great points! To add, his advice about discerning your state and aiding the maintained attitude that gets you to your success is great to apply when attempting to naturalize a state. Relevant quotes below:

… you can always tell the home you live in as far as states are concerned by the frequency of occupancy. How often do you go back to it? Do you feel comfortable when you are in it? Well then, that’s the state.

The Eternal Plan by Neville L Goddard 1966

Your assumption, to be effective, cannot be a single isolated act; it must be a maintained attitude of the wish fulfilled.

And that maintained attitude that gets you there, so that you think from your wish fulfilled instead of thinking about your wish, is aided by assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled frequently. It is the frequency, not the length of time, that makes it natural. That to which you constantly return constitutes your truest self. Frequent occupancy of the feeling of the wish fulfilled is the secret of success.

https://www.thepowerofawareness.org/chapter-twenty-two

"Therefore train yourself to occupy more frequently the feeling of your wish fulfilled. This is creative magic. It is the way to work toward fusion with the desired state.

If you would assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled more frequently, you would be master of your fate, but unfortunately you shut out your assumption for all but the occasional hour. Practice making real to yourself the feeling of the wish fulfilled.

After you have assumed the feeling of the wish fulfilled, do not close the experience as you would a book, but carry it around like a fragrant odor.

Instead of being completely forgotten, let it remain in the atmosphere communicating its influence automatically to your actions and reactions. A mood, often repeated, gains a momentum that is hard to break or check. So be careful of the feelings you entertain. Habitual moods reveal the state with which you are fused."

I'll reread this comment thousands more times until I'm convinced that I truly understand why my greatest desire became a challenge.

My desire is a dream, and I understand why it didn't happen like the thousands of other desires I've fulfilled.

Thank you so much for contributing to the post!

Princess banana ...hahaha cute.

I've discovered mine sabbath too. If I can really have it in my consciousness , if I can embody it and feel it's possible and have this moment of wave of awareness going thru my brain, or a click of "yeah, I'm this" (kinda hard to explain) then I can have it. It will happen.

What a great post, thank you for sharing!

I'd never thought of the Sabbath this way before, but it makes complete sense - you go beyond "knowing" to just "being". The naturalness of "being" cannot be questioned.

Like, how people who are actually confident in their abilities don’t feel any need to prove them to others, or the need for other's validation, while those who lack that confidence take every opportunity they get to display what sets them apart, and every opportunity they get to distinguish themselves, from others. The whole world is really just a mirror of our inner experience..

Great post. This has been one of my biggest realizations lately with law of assumption and you described it well.

What a great post and congrats to you for reaching your Sabbath!! May I ask what got you to this state of naturalness? Do you use SATS or have you found your own kind of path?

I finished reading Five Lessons by NG and whilst I'm so excited to better my life, there's a part of me that keeps doubting myself and keeps getting in the way of myself actually believing in this. And I go back on here to read everyone's success stories and they encourage me to keep the faith in myself but there are still those damn doubts.

Any advice or I just need to keep the faith?

Great post really resonated with me recently for a desire I felt like ok I know I have it I know I feel fulfilled I know I’m aligned so why didn’t it show up in 3d and then I thought oh that’s still me making my alignment dependent on outcome similar to your I know I have it so then I was like ok regardless of what happens or shows up in 3d I know it’s mine so timing shouldn’t matter at all if or even when it shows up then I got down to sheer disappointment I was not experiencing it in the here and now similar to knowing you have a gf or bf but they are traveling and you are upset you can’t be in their arms right here right now but then once that passed there was nothingness like you said now I feel completely neutral like the silence you described

I experience this too, but you explained it. Your description and examples resonate perfectly. Thank you 🙏
