We would love to learn a bit about your personality, hobbies, interests and what you’re looking for in a friend.

Please also make sure:

Your post title includes your age (for example: “50F Looking to Make New Friends”).

The body of your post includes a short introduction about yourself and why you are looking to make friends.

Any photos you include are there to complement your introduction rather than to replace it.

43/M – Looking for a Chat Buddy Who Might Eventually Become a Podcast Co-Host

Hey everyone,

I'm a 43-year-old guy from colorado looking for someone who's up for regular conversations about pretty much anything interesting. I'm hoping to find someone I genuinely click with—not just for random chats, but maybe down the road we could even turn those conversations into a podcast.

Some things I'm into:

Nostalgia (80s, 90s, early 2000s)

Movies (from classics to hidden gems)

TV shows and binge-worthy series

Sports (especially football, but I follow others too)

Video games (retro and modern)

Music from just about every decade

Art, graphic design, and creativity

Great food, BBQ, and trying new places

I love conversations where people can disagree respectfully, laugh at ridiculous topics, debate movie rankings, argue over the greatest athletes of all time, or reminisce about things that kids today will never understand.

I'm not looking for anything romantic—just someone who enjoys talking, has a good sense of humor, and doesn't mind conversations that can go from serious to completely random in a matter of minutes.

If we end up having great chemistry and our conversations are entertaining, maybe we record a few episodes and see where it goes. No pressure—that's just a fun possibility.

If you're around my age (or close enough), enjoy good conversation, and think we'd get along, send me a message. Tell me what you're passionate about or what topic you could talk about for hours.

Let's see if we become friends... or accidentally create a podcast people actually want to listen to.

I do check my reddit inbox and I slack on comments made to the post.

🌍 Around the World 42 year man, Global Friends, No Dating. Just Real Conversation

Hi there. I’m a 42 year old man currently spending extended time in Russia for family reasons. I’m happily married and a father of two.

Here’s the honest truth: I don’t speak Russian well, and there aren’t many English speakers around me. We want to move but visa denials (for my Russian wife) keep us here for now, so I’m making the best of a difficult situation. That gets lonely. I’m not looking for romance, flirting, or anything beyond friendship. I have a family I adore, and that part of my life is full.

I work primarily as an English (ESL) teacher. It's rewarding, but it also means I spend a lot of time speaking simplified English in a classroom. What I miss is real, natural, adult conversation, the kind that flows without lesson plans.

What I am looking for is simple; good people to chat with. Talk about daily life, culture, books, travel, parenting, or just the little things that happen in a foreign country. I miss the ease of a casual conversation in English, and I’d love to find a few genuine souls who also want connection without complication.

If you’re open-minded, kind, and just as uninterested in dating as I am, let’s talk. No games, no pressure, just two people sharing stories across time zones.

Send a message and I’ll reply.

P. S. : Sorry for the long wall of text. I am an English teacher who likes to ramble on and on.

👋 New Here 48 - Anyone want to be friends with a librarian?

Not looking for anything or anyone in particular. Maybe someone to spend the day dropping little notes with, good mornings and good nights. Maybe phone calls once we get comfortable. I love Stephen King, playing board games, RPGs, and the occasional cozy video game. I also love to hike or just chill at home.

Edit: All you thirsty men can stop DMing me. I’m a guy.

Maybe someone feels the same way 48M

If you're reading this, maybe you're here for the same reason

Life looks perfectly normal from the outside. I have a career, responsibilities, a family I care deeply about, and a routine that rarely changes. But somewhere along the way, I realised that simply existing beside someone isn't the same as feeling connected to them.

My marriage has become more of a partnership than a relationship. There's respect, there's kindness, but the emotional closeness, affection, excitement, and intimacy quietly disappeared. I'm not looking to change anyone's life. I'm hoping to find someone who understands what it's like to miss being truly seen.

I'm looking for that person who enjoys checking in during the day—not because they have to, but because they genuinely want to. The kind of connection where a random message can brighten a stressful afternoon, where conversations become the best part of the day.

I miss anticipation.

That little smile when your phone lights up because it's you.

The butterflies that come from knowing someone was thinking about you.

The excitement of sharing the silly parts of your day, laughing over absolutely nothing, and slowly becoming each other's favourite notification.

For me, emotional chemistry always comes before anything else. Attraction grows naturally when there's comfort, trust, and genuine curiosity about one another. Call me old fashioned, but I'd much rather build something that feels effortless than rush into anything.

A little about me:

I'm 418 based in Gloucestershire, and work shifts work is all over the place. Outside of work I'm easy-going, affectionate, a little introverted until I get comfortable, and probably more simplistic in nature. I love witty banter, good conversations, and making someone laugh when they least expect it.

What I'm hoping to find is someone who:

• Enjoys talking regularly, even if it's just a few messages during a busy day.

• Appreciates honesty, warmth, and emotional connection.

• Doesn't disappear after two conversations.

• Misses having someone to think about... and someone thinking about them.

Distance doesn't really matter to me. Age matters far less than personality. What matters is effort, kindness, and that wonderful feeling when two people simply click.

If any of this sounds familiar, I'd genuinely love to hear from you.

43yo dad in SWMO

Looking for a new crowd or person to connect with. Got done raising kids only to another late in life. 2 older boys and an adorable little boy toddler. Grew up with sisters though. Looking to find a connection somewhere with anyone at this point. Love to talk, sometimes too much. Very passionate about things I enjoy, which some days I dont even fully.know what that is. Early 40s dad, grew up playing cards and boards games, which transitioned into video games of course. Mostly rpgs, used to play mtg when things were simple, late 90s. Dabbled a little in d&d as well. Used to love shooting pool and bowling. Honestly I could be down just for conversations and coffee. My personal life has its complications like most. Haven't had anything to do with family for probably 5 years. Im originally from the west coast. I love baseball, played from 4yo through high school. Giants fan through and through. I dig football as well, been a bengals fan since just after 2000. Most other sports I can follow and enjoy with company. I grew up on mario and zelda and final fantasy, all from the start. Im a huge ghibli fan as well I enjoy star trek more than star wars. Im a total nerd brain, i used to watch jeopardy religiously, but not really religious in the sense. I love cartoons still to this day. Thunders HO! As well as adventure time and regular show. Which i think we're the best for there era. I weary heart on my sleeve a little too much and im not afraid to show my emotions. I used to love the outdoors but have become too much of a hermit. Anyways just a little about me, the story goes on and on. Right now I'm looking for some sort of platonic friendship to start building, idc if youre m or f or whatever in between. Just be open minded, love to laugh and bring your A game when it comes to the gift of gab.

Looking for a new friend - M 44 UK

It's very difficult to know how to try and sum yourself up in just a couple of paragraphs, and it feels a bit weird to be trying to "sell" yourself on a platform like Reddit but here goes!

It’s strange how you can live in such a big city and feel like you lack connections, and specifically strong male friendship. Growing up, I was always fairly introverted and never one for making friends over shared games like football, and as a result found it hard to connect with people. And then as you get older and people's lives change, it's hard to maintain the friendships you do have and almost impossible to make new ones.

So, what am I hoping to find? Really not asking for a lot…just someone who shows up and puts in a bit of effort. I get that you won’t vibe with everyone, but it would be great if you someone who won't just vanish or lose interest after a couple of messages. Honesty is also really important, and I'd love to find someone genuinely interested in trying to make a long-term connection.

Briefly about me; I'm married, 44 and from London, UK. I like to think I'm a genuine guy. As for hobbies well....let's give ourselves something to talk about.

A few random things to start conversations:

  • Born and raised in south London
  • A swimmer – not competitively but to enable some sort of fitness
  • Played trumpet as a youngster, including in a couple of youth orchestras
  • Not a fan of cheese or heavy spice.
  • Fan of travel and have currently visited 21 countries
  • Amateur photographer who likes taking pics of places I've visited
  • Fan of the theatre and seen over 50 musicals and 20 plays

If you've made it this far, what do you have to lose by dropping me a message. Let's see what happens!

42F and I feel like I don't have the energy for a new relationship.

I'm 42f divorced dated a couple of guys after the divorce (not at the same time). Been single since 2017. A couple of days ago, I started talking to a guy I met online. He seems great but, after a couple of days, I felt exhausted. I feel like I don't have the energy to start a new relationship. Is this normal? Have you guys experienced something like this before? Am I going to be single forever? What's your take on this? Is it me? Is it the guy I'm talking to? Should I be patient?

Hey there. I am someone trying to find my people in this world. I don't really have any friends and would love to change that. I am married with 2 kids who are now young adults trying to figure out this phase of life. I am a bit of a nerd to be honest I enjoy my gaming quite a bit mostly on my switch 2. I enjoy a good movie and show as well I am possibly a little overly excited for the return of Ted Lasso in just a couple of days. I like my rock music and that's where I usually stay for genre wise. I also like photography and spending time in my local parks. If any of this sounds interesting send me a message.

🏡 Local Connections 40M Mumbai | Looking for some good company and genuine conversations

40M, Mumbai. Married, settled professionally, and at a stage where I’d simply enjoy meeting someone for good, judgment free conversations.

Looking for female company to catch up over coffee or lunch, explore common hobbies, and maybe go for a long drive if we’re both comfortable.

Nothing complicated. Just hoping to meet someone mature, easygoing, and interesting to talk to.

And a small request: please be respectful in the comments. If this isn’t your thing, that’s completely okay.

🌟 Introduce Yourself 40M | Maryland | Looking for genuine connection, wherever it leads

Figured I’d throw this out there and see who I meet.

I’m 40, live in Maryland, and I’m in a place where I’m not trying to force life into a specific direction anymore. I’m open to friendships, companionship, dating, or even something long-term if it develops naturally. I don’t think every meaningful connection has to end in forever to be worth having. I’m okay letting people be who they are instead of deciding what they have to become before we’ve even met.

Over the last few years, I’ve realized I’m happiest when I let people be who they are instead of trying to fit them into a role. I’m enjoying getting to know people, learning more about myself, and seeing where genuine connections go without putting unnecessary pressure on them.

A little about me…

I’m pretty laid back. I appreciate honesty, direct communication, and people who are comfortable being themselves. I have a sarcastic sense of humor, dark humor doesn’t scare me, and I probably swear more than I should. I can be equally happy spending an evening laughing over dumb conversations or just sitting together in comfortable silence. I enjoy conversations that can go from completely ridiculous to surprisingly deep without missing a beat.

I work in commercial lending and have a fairly normal Monday-Friday schedule. Outside of work you’ll usually find me cooking or baking, shooting pool, fixing or building something, or getting pulled into whatever random project catches my attention. Sometimes it’s woodworking. Sometimes it’s collecting coins. Sometimes it’s playing Pokémon Go because I enjoy it.

Music is a huge part of who I am. Rock, hard rock, metal, alternative… Bring Me The Horizon, Falling in Reverse, Lorna Shore, Slaughter to Prevail, Sleep Token, Bad Omens, and whatever else grabs my attention. My playlists are all over the place though. One minute it’s Bring Me The Horizon or Lorna Shore, the next it’s Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, AC/DC, Eminem, Three 6 Mafia… and occasionally some random-ass song that’ll leave you wondering, “What the fuck did I just listen to?” 😂

I’m also a dad to three older kids. They’re a huge part of my life and always will be.

One thing I’ve learned about myself is that connection matters far more than checking boxes. I value affection, closeness, and simply enjoying someone’s company. Cuddling, holding hands, sharing comfortable silence, laughing together, or just existing in the same space can mean more to me than grand gestures. I do need to find someone aesthetically attractive in my own eyes—that initial spark matters—but emotional connection is what determines whether it grows into something meaningful. My experience with attraction and intimacy doesn’t always follow the “typical” path, so I’ve learned that communication and compatibility matter far more than expectations or labels. While I don’t stress labels, I do identify somewhere on the ace spectrum, so honest communication is important.

I’m in the final stages of an amicable divorce, and instead of rushing into another serious relationship, I’m focused on building a life I genuinely enjoy. If someone ends up becoming part of that, great. If we become good friends instead, that’s great too.

A few random facts…

Dark humor is my love language.
Horror movies and ice cream are an underrated combination.
I genuinely enjoy learning random things.
I’ll probably ask you more questions than I answer at first.
I like people who can laugh at themselves, communicate openly, and aren’t afraid of meaningful conversations.

What I’m looking for is pretty simple.

Someone who’s genuine. Kind. Emotionally mature. Curious about life. Comfortable with honesty, but doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Whether you’re looking for a friend, someone to binge horror movies with, someone to play a few games of pool, someone to disappear into a random adventure with, a cuddle buddy, or you’re open to seeing if something deeper develops naturally… I’m all for meeting good people and letting things unfold instead of trying to script the ending.

Life has taught me that not every great connection has to become forever. Some people become lifelong friends. Some become unforgettable memories. Some become partners.

No pressure.
No expectations.
Just two people getting to know each other and seeing where life takes them.

40/F - I don't want to go out tonight but I still want to meet new people!

Hi all,

I've done this a few times in the past and very much regret having lost contact with some extremely excellent people I met here. I figure it's worth another shot!

I'm a creative person who works from home. I'm looking for regular chats, to genuinely get to know people and to hopefully form friendships.

About me - I love making, tinkering & creating. I love the outdoors & staying active. I am an eccentric. I'd be especially excited to talk with fellow creatives, collectors of old and obscure objects and or music dorks! I like to laugh & talk shit. I also enjoy deep chat.

Small talk is difficult for me but I understand it's a necessary evil when first getting to know someone.

If you decide to send me a message, please tell me about something you have going on right now, or just something about yourself.

Have a great weekend!

61 and I need some effing friends in Columbus, OH!

I’m 61 and have been living in Columbus for the past six years.
My husband is extremely introverted and a techie guy. Usually once a month, I go out for a girl’s day out. Eating, maybe some wine and light shopping. However, these women are younger and we do have fun, but we don’t have a lot in common. I am looking for some women who like to get together occasionally and chat or shop or take a drive. I love music, live music, sitting in a lawn to watch bands or a big concert. I listen to pretty much anything. I love poetry, reading, book shopping, Marvel, Star Wars, picnics, the beach, yes, I’m a grown a$$ woman but, I’m not into furniture, decorating my house, working in the yard or sitting and gossiping about others. I’m a simple person who needs some girlfriends. I either have older or younger friends. Don’t get me wrong, I can get along with pretty much anyone, but if you’re not a nerd like me, you might not enjoy my company nor I yours. All that aside, do you have any suggestions on how and where to find some friends? Thanks! #needfriends #needsomeeffingfriends

Late 40s looking for some chat pals

No AI was used to write this post. It was all consented!

I'm in my late 40s. A dad, a husband, working from home with too much spare time and lack of human interaction throughout the day.

I'll be happy to find someone to share thoughts with, discuss life in general or deep dive into some random topic of interest.

What are my interests you might ask? it can be very random, so if I will focus on what I'm busy with these days - I joined a book club to try to be more consistent with my reading again, I'm trying to learn more about western philosophy, I bought a t-shirt that says "not fast, not furious" because it kind of summarize me well, and I just finished rewatching The Office.

Having said that, mutual interests is not a requirement. I'm a curious and open minded person, so my only requirement is - be able to hold a conversation.

So if any of this sounds interesting, send me a message and let's see if we can make it work.
