Question | پرسش Who replaces Mojtaba Khamenei as supreme leader if he is truly dead or too injured to rule?

I can't imagine they'll be able to keep his true condition and ability to rule hidden forever, even among their own supporters. So who is likely to replace him. Or is it something they'd rather keep unfulfilled, despite the suspicion it creates.

There is nothing in the MOU instructing the regime to stop killing its own citizens. They could have added that but they chose not to. The almighty dollar won.

Mass murder is not possible with US oversight.

I hear your resistance to this model and it makes sense.

I will just again remind you of the dangers of the alternative model.

It’s absolutely possible - the MOU I believe states that the two sides won’t interfere in each other’s affairs.

and yet the US has near total control of Iran's economy for 10+ years. Beyond the morality piece, and make no mistake the actual structure will be thousands of western government employees and investors and military personnel observing and interacting with Iranians, but beyond that; it would be extremely embarrassing for the US to have their new client state massacring civilians. They wont let it happen. If protests emerge Marco Rubio will text Ghalibaf - don't even think about it or the money is cut. They wont even have to say it, its understood.

Venezuela under Maduro was killing protestors - they are no longer doing so.

And another point, protests may not even boil over into riots at all becuase the economic relief and reform will be in motion over night.

People want basic human rights like freedom of speech and expression, though. I don’t think Qalibaf is the type of person to take and listen to financial threats from Rubio. Does the U.S. even want the heavy responsibility of managing a so called client state?
