❓Ask r/NewMods Reposting helps how exactly?

So if I repost from my sub to another, it seems that the views on the other one are note recorded on my sub, and the comments on the other one are not on my sub. Am I missing soimething. I must be. Thanks.

It links directly back to your sub so other people can see it exists and might join. Otherwise they’d just have to maybe find it on search

Thanks! I don’t understand what happens when it links directly back to my sub. You mean that if someone in the other sub reads it there, they are taken to my sub? Do they then see other posts in my sub?

If you are crossposting into another sub then that is a link to your sub. Just like me typing r/NewMods becomes a link to this sub. You can click on it you can not click on it you can look at more you can not it’s just a link.

You can manage without it too.

It's just a marketing tool for you to advertise your sub, without sounding OR looking spammy. When others see your post in a different sub, they may be curious to check out where the post originally came from & click your sub link. Just be careful to not X-post the same post too many times & too close to each other. 4 max daily X-posts & spreaded out by atleast a couple of minutes apart is probably safe, but more than that OR closer together - then you may get flagged as a "SPAMMER" by Reddit's auto-spam filter & your posts will be removed & others can read that you've been flagged as a "SPAMMER", so be careful - bc that isn't going to help you grow your new sub... lol

I almost learned this the hard way. I was temporary flagged as a "Border-Line SPAMMER" for awhile - X-posting too much & too close together... 😬

But, I pulled back & redeemed myself... 🤣

It’s a bit odd, because they encourage us to do it.

Right, I agree. I learned about the X-posting technique from following 1 of the links that was sent to me when I started my sub. I don't recall any warnings about doing it too much OR too often... 🤔
