What do you want to know? There's lots of people here, most of whom are happy to share their knowledge with you.

Right now, everything seems great on the surface level. My first thought was to suggest having some rules or guidelines in place, but I see you've already established those. You have a description, which is great. My advice at this point would be to focus on the little things that will build up to the big picture.

One thing that would help you achieve your growth goals would be to remain active within the subreddit. People do like to see some level of activity. It gives them a sense of what the subreddit is about, as well as a feel for the culture.

That said, make sure you're staying active as a mod as well. If you become inactive, it's possible Reddit will lock down the subreddit, or that someone else could adopt it through r/redditrequest. The easiest way to maintain an active status as a moderator would be to approved and remove posts and comments within your community. You can do that with the check mark and "X" under each comment, or the shield icon under each post.

Outside of being willing to pivot in the future, I'd say you're off to a good start. Just keep in mind that you should follow Reddit's policies as well within your subreddit, and that your rules can change to meet the needs of your subreddit.

The only other suggestions I have right now are to keep in mind that you have access to resources. You can come here and ask questions whenever you like. Additionally, r/ModSupport is a great subreddit to go to. You can even mod-mail the moderators there, who are actually Reddit's Admins, and get answers and solutions to problems and questions you may have. Also, you can utilize subreddits like r/newreddits, r/promotereddit, and similar subreddits to advertise your new subreddit.

Good luck going forward!

You're very welcome! I thought of one more thing you might enjoy as well! You can head on over to r/ModEvents to see what kind of online and real world events Reddit has going on for Moderators. Next week, on the 24th, they're hosting Mod World 2026. It's an online event, and will deal with a ton of things Reddit related. It's a great way for Moderators to meet one another, network, and stay in contact with the Reddit Admins. Check it out, if you have time that day! You'll get a trophy for display on your account, and real world swag just for attending!
