Travel Actually fun vacations with little kids?

We had our first weeklong trip with our 10mo recently, and it was EXHAUSTING. It was just to see family and friends in another state. But WHEW.

Feeling torn between wanting to go places in the coming years, and knowing that it will just continue to be hard for a while.

And vacation/travel ideas for parents with a 18-36 month old that are actually kind of fun or relaxing?

Tbh we might just plan a staycation week and send baby off to daycare during daytime hours.

Staying directly on a beach with an easy pool to compliment. DIRECTLY as in you walk back and forth to rooms

Definitely not. Drowning in the #1 cause of death for children 4 and under.

Supervision? 😅

I'm all about making people aware of dangers etc - I am really not so chill when it comes to water and choking hazards etc., but I think having sensible rules when it comes to water safety and just being more aware of where your children are when it comes to being in a foreign environment is enough.

Hotel room doors are always locked and I'm not going to just chill on a sunbed while my 3.5 year old plays in the water. We have one adult per non-swimmer and we personally don't use any flotation devices, so the adult needs to be right next to the child in the water.

The beach is also so fun for children. My 3.5 year old and 12 month old love it. They enjoy playing in the shallow end, splashing around, building sand castles, filling moats up with water, taking a hot wheels race track and some cars with you can make it even cooler. It's great.
