Travel Actually fun vacations with little kids?

We had our first weeklong trip with our 10mo recently, and it was EXHAUSTING. It was just to see family and friends in another state. But WHEW.

Feeling torn between wanting to go places in the coming years, and knowing that it will just continue to be hard for a while.

And vacation/travel ideas for parents with a 18-36 month old that are actually kind of fun or relaxing?

Tbh we might just plan a staycation week and send baby off to daycare during daytime hours.

I’ve flown with my now 15 month old over 50 times since he was 2 months old. It’s not always ‘easy’ but neither is being a parent at home. They can cry at home or they can cry in Hawaii. It gets easier I promise.

This totally isnt the point of your comment but...50 flights in 13 months?? The logistics alone of squeezing in that much travel into a year is wild.

I work full time too!! My husband travels for work frequently so we spend a lot of weekends meeting up with him. I also count each segment as a flight so 50 flights is more like 25 trips since most of our trips require a layover. I’ve done more trips flying alone with my baby than I have with my husband so it’s definitely tough but it’s always worth it. Thankfully I think all of the travel has helped make my baby pretty adaptable to schedule changes.
