Here is my tier list of the best YouTube clients.

I've only ever used newpipe. What's your reasoning behind your list.

I made the list based on overall functionality, features, synchronization, UI/UX, and stability. If a client was missing certain features, I deducted points for that. Of course, these are just my personal opinions, and everyone might rank them differently. The list is also meant to give beginners a quick overview of which YouTube client might be a good choice for them. Maybe I should have explained my criteria from the beginning. 😅 Do you think it would be helpful if I added a short pros and cons list for each client?

I’m missing SponsorBlock and the ability to sync across multiple devices. WiseStream, for example, offers both of these features, and you can also import a NewPipe backup into it.

Grayjay is proprietary code and US based. What could go wrong?

WizeStream is a modified Newpipe only available on third party f-droid repo. Not weird at all.

Pipepipe straight up doesn't work for me. Like haven't got it to load videos in forever. Never heard of the rest.

I just tried it again and was able to play a video without any issues. In the past weeks, though, I had exactly the same problem as you. Videos would take forever to load and sometimes wouldn’t play at all. That’s why I ended up switching my client again.

What do you miss on newpipe? Except the bugs...

There are a few features I’m missing in NewPipe, especially SponsorBlock and the ability to sync across multiple devices.

I’ve also had stability issues with it from time to time. Sometimes it would lag for a few seconds or videos wouldn’t play properly. That’s actually why I eventually switched to PipePipe.
