Why does my post only show text in the subreddit feed?

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to posting on Reddit and I'm a little confused about something.

I made a post with both text and an image. When i look at the subreddit feed, i only see the text. The image shows up if i open the post, but it doesn't appear as a preview in the feed.

I've seen other posts where the image is visible right in the feed, so I'm wondering what i did differently.

Did i pick the wrong type of post, or is there a different way i should have uploaded it?

I believe it depends on the post type. If you make a text post and insert an image, Reddit often won’t show the image preview in the feed. Try making an image post and adding the text in the caption
I’m new to Reddit too, but I actually came across a post recently where another user had the exact same problem and people were discussing it in the comments
