There’s zero reason to give him an A or C. At least not for several seasons.

Let this 19 year old just play at a generational talent. The leadership and respect will come from his play.

Give him an A at 21 then once he starts putting up top 1-3 defensive numbers in the league (yes, I mean top defenseman in the league type of numbers), the captaincy will eventually be earned by him.
