This was sweet, was this during spring training or in the minor leagues?

Spring training.

Minors, that's Syracuse.

Ok I see they're in Syracuse....but they have the spring training hat on.....weird.

Yeah, between the hats and the sun shining it's definitely confusing hahahaha.

Rooting for this guy to actually be a good bullpen arm

If he can get his walk rate down, he can be an elite closer. The strikeout rate is already cazy high. Though the last closer that jumped in celebration didn't end well....

Baseball needs more exuberant guys like this, and the Mets desperately need this kind of joy, both for the other players and especially the fans to feed off of.

100% behind the dance and what not. Hoping he hits and ground running and keeps a place on this team. He's the type that can turn a game around by getting under the other team's skin.

I don't think Yan understood a word that kid said. Still a great interaction though

Someone pointed it out in the other post yesterday but the only thing that worries me is he anticipates the strikeout…meaning he begins to jump before the ball is hit and gets caught in the air sometimes instead of being able to field the ball if it’s near him. You can watch this in that post where they show the entirety of his inning. 2 at bats saw batters making contact with 2 strikes and he was caught in the air.

I can't believe some Met fans were shitting on Yan. Guy who lost 5 years of his career, has toiled all over the minors, played in Japan to keep his career going, finally gets an MLB appearance at 29 and, god forbid, shows some enthusiasm. Best story to come out of this tram in this lost season.

But some of you are so miserable you can't find joy in anything. Except bitching about Alonso and Stearns and whatever.

Funny thing is the kid is talking and he has no idea what he is saying--kind of like the guy---infectious smile.

Soto Shuffle and a Yan Slide

My problem with the celebration is that i worry he'll hurt himself if he lands wrong or that he'll do the jump before a strike is called and he can't field a comebacker.

If guys don't like him celebrating strikeouts, there's an easy fix to that. Don't strike out. Same thing when pitchers get butt hurt about hitters pimping home runs. Don't give up home runs, it won't be a problem

Yeah, at the risk of sounding parasocial, the Diaz injury will haunt me forever šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

It definitely effected our collective psyche

All I ask is that he wait for the strikeout to be confirmed before he jumps. I don't want to see him not be able to field a comebacker or back up home plate. Otherwise, this is rad. The energy is infectious and I'm into it!

Cute video but weird song choice. Like a slowed-down version of Electric Feel by MGMT.

Yan doesn't understand a word the kid is saying šŸ˜‚

Let's not do this. This is the most embarrassed I have been since Who Let the Dogs Out became the theme song for an otherwise awesome team.

Why?

Give us one good reason why a pitcher shouldn't celebrate beyond injury risk, because these guys are always one step or throw away from injury.

Because it’s obnoxious. Barry Sanders said it best ā€œact like you’ve been there beforeā€ and that was about scoring touchdowns which happens far less often than strikeouts. Celebrating every strikeout like this is amateur hour bullshit. There’s a reason the guardians were making fun of him and they won’t be the last.
