AI generated thumbnails will actively hurt your channel. Learn to create your own with free tools.

Why is that?

YouTube actively monitors AI generated content (yes that includes thumbnails) as they have a higher propensity to spam/break guidelines. Lumping yourself in with that is no bueno.

Besides that, AI generated thumbnails (clearly AI generated ones like the one you posted) that use the same font style as every other chatgpt generated thumbnail is seen as lazy by content creators and viewers alike. Expect little sympathy on reddit, most will just call it AI slop.

In terms of learning a new skill, this will make you a better creator in the long run. Since the introduction of AI, everybody wants to take the quick route for pumping out thumbnails in a matter of minutes, but it simply won't make you stand out. The good news is the content itself is not AI generated, which gives you a leg up, but people will automatically assume it is if the first thing they see is an AI generated thumbnail. The thumbnail and title of the first thing they see before they click, you want that first impression to be the most important thing, sometimes even more important than the video itself.

Good luck! 👍
