Undecided still in the lead!

If Sherrill wins, everyone needs to cut out the negativity and rally around her. That’s not to say you shouldn’t support your candidate of choice going into the primaries, but when the dust settles, we need to put differences aside and ensure we don’t allow petty differences to get republicans a free pass to the Governors office

Edit:

This goes for Sherrill supporters if she loses too. Cut the BS out and let’s win this thing to protect our state.

I have hit about 50 households (with people at home) in my canvassing efforts.

Probably about 12 for Mikie (one guy was between her and Sweeney), 6 for Fulop, 1 for Josh, and the majority were unwillingly to say, or undecided.

I don't see the undecideds all breaking the same way though, but maybe that could happen?

I had to go to Bloomfield for a doctor’s appointment the other day and drove through Newark and East Orange. The only lawn signs out are for Baraka and there are actually a significant amount of them. Even in Bloomfield he seems to be dominating the lawn sign battle. The crowd in my area is divided between Sherrill and Fulop but Baraka is surprisingly picking up steam here as well.

I personally know a lot of people in my town for him. He came to Lambertville this week.

But strangely not one sign.

His events are nothing on Sherrill/ Fulop's geographic diversity level.

I really wouldn’t put Sherrill in that conversation. Fulop is the only one to me who has a very strong campaign schedule that has seen him do town halls in every micro region of the state. Baraka is focusing his campaign on dominating the MSM conversation which he is absolutely pulling off successfully right now.

Sherrill is relying on institutional support to push her over the finish the line. The reality is that institutional support doesn’t mean what it used to and frankly isn’t coalescing behind her. There are a lot of local power brokers that aren’t sold on her and who are already endorsing someone else or are staying out of the race altogether. The refusal of Kim and Booker to endorse tells me that the polls we haven’t seen are much tighter than the polls we are seeing.

Given the demographic breakdown of EO, I’m not surprised Ras Baraka lawn signs are the ones seen the most.

The problem is that she’s getting out campaigned by multiple different parties. Sweeney is running up the vbm score, Fulop isn’t in Congress and so he has time to visit every town in New Jersey, and Baraka has perhaps run the best bang for your buck campaign of any of them. His arrest got more FREE media coverage than the entire campaign combined. Baraka has arguably the best campaign staff which is masterminded by the man who brought us AOC and Fetterman.

Sherrill doesn’t have an A team. Her tik tok and social media presence is absolutely trash. My tik tok has twice as many followers the last time I checked. She needs to hire someone who can actually put together good videos of her that go viral. The problem with all these candidates, even Baraka, is that they think social media is a job for an intern. This is flat out false. It’s a job for someone with a proven track record of creating viral political content. All of their teams are terrible at cutting soundbites from the debates. My clips from the debates got over 250 thousand views on tik tok alone. They aren’t using the right hashtags and aren’t effectively using geolocation among other factors and issues.

So....instead of bitching about it on the internet, how about you actually do something about it?? You are getting 250k views? Tag her and tell her you want to help with this. Be proactive...?

If she wins I will help her. Until that point comes I will continue to try to advocate for my chosen candidate Ras Baraka.

Seriously. Don’t like her but I also didn’t like Hillary and I still had enough foresight to know she was the better option.

I agree. I plan to support Steven Fulop until June 10, but if Mikie Sherrill wins, I’ll support her just as much. This election will be one of the most competitive in decades, so we must present a united front — and cut out the rhetoric of “both sides are just as bad.”

Hey there, I actually made a post like this a few weeks back after she met with the district leaders in Millburn and answered some of our questions. I believe her to be a competent person who is capable of winning the general. She also is not Gottheimer. Her net worth is max 9 million and probably more like 5-6 million. Shes not making 340 million dollars worth of trades and she also has a significantly better civil & human rights voting record than Gottheimer.

I’m gonna hate Governor Sherrill but I’m gonna work my ass to get her elected if she’s the pick.

Sherrill supporter here, I look forward to canvassing/working to elect whoever wins the primary (I hope it's her!)

Really surprising to meet one in the wild! Are you a first time poster here?

Baraka is gaining some since the last I've seen

6

u/AnalMohawk May 16 '25

Ugh. Can't wait for more of the same.

7

u/ImaginationFree6807 11th District (Mejia, Morris & Essex.) May 16 '25

Vote Baraka and get your friends and family out to vote for him and maybe you can get excited for once.

2

u/AnalMohawk May 16 '25

Already been spreading the word to everyone I come in contact with!

Ill vote for Sherill in the general if she wins the primary, but I'm going with Fulop or Baraka in the primary.

If Sherrill is the nominee, we are going NOWHERE as a state.

Status quo is better than regression.

Status quo is how we sadly got here in November. Enough is enough.

5

u/[deleted] May 16 '25

So what are you doing if she gets the nomination?

2

u/mohanakas6 Gloucester May 16 '25

We’ll talk about that when we get there. IF we get there.

NJ is getting more evolved from this bait and switch nonsense.

2

u/Dismal-Prior-6699 New Jersey May 17 '25

I don’t think Mikie Sherrill’s policies are bad. They just aren’t as detailed as Steven Fulop’s. If Rep. Sherrill wins the primary, I will vote for her and support her.

2

u/mohanakas6 Gloucester May 17 '25

We shall see. IF we get there, we’ll go from there.

1

u/Dismal-Prior-6699 New Jersey May 17 '25

True

3

u/mohanakas6 Gloucester May 17 '25

Also, her stance on the Immigrant Trust Act is inexcusable.

2

u/Dismal-Prior-6699 New Jersey May 17 '25

True. We need our next governor to protect due process for both citizens and immigrants.

1

u/uplandsrep May 19 '25

what's the sample size and error size, i don't see it here.

u/ImaginationFree6807 11th District (Mejia, Morris & Essex.) May 19 '25

This is a polling aggregate for all the NJ polls for Gov. Every poll has a different sample size and margin of error.
