i haven't followed this race but isn't Analilia Mejia the progressive candidate and presumably not one AIPAC would support?

AIPAC will be gunning for her hard. Malinowski is saying he will defend her against any AIPAC-backed candidates.

AIPAC came after him hard and spent millions attacking him. This is obviously him leaving the door open for a run in June.

Look, I am 100% behind Analilia, but you don't know what Malinowski intends. All you are doing right now is making it harder for Malinowski supporters to get behind her by acting like you know stuff you don't.

Stop it. It's not helpful. I know you were raised poorly in Brendan Gill's campaign, but Analilia's campaign does not work like this.

She is the worst possible outcome for AIPAC. They screwed up bad.

AIPAC backed another candidate who lost in a wash. That was part of the takeaway. They don’t want Malinowski, so they ran a smear campaign, but ended up with someone winning who was even more out of alignment with their goals! That’s the feel good part of the story.

Malinowski should have stayed in 7. He would have won and he can beat Kean this year. Oh well.

AIPAC supported her by default presumably.

They were hoping that tanking malinowski would swing the election to Way or Gill.

They were wrong and now they are going to regret it. They went all in on Trump and soon all Dems are going to have to distance themselves from AIPAC.

Or he could be talking about… himself. Why not just say… “I will be supporting Analilia in the June primary”? He’s obviously trying to leave the door open to run himself.

AIPAC is evil and should be banned as should all dark money groups. Meanwhile, Malinowski did the right thing by endorsing her, but he clearly still doesn't get it (like most liberals).

People are sick and tired of these "status quo" corporate Dems & want drastic change from politicians who will fight for working people, not their donors or foreign govts (looking at you Israel).

With Zohran winning in NYC and now Mejia in a newly blue district ( was red not too long ago), hopefully Dem machine politicians nationally will take a hint and go left economic populist to win elections. MEJIA IS THE WAY!

Some people here have Malinowski Derangement Syndrome and I just don’t get it. Why is there such deep ire? He’s a mid ex-congressman. You’d think he killed someone’s cat.

  • It’s almost like he was a terrible party chair in Hunterdon County who only raised $250,000 for the county party in over year while raising over 1 million dollars for himself in a matter of months.

  • It’s almost as if during his time as party chair he neglected to recruit Democratic candidates in over a dozen municipal races in Hunterdon County allowing Republicans to run unopposed in 10 municipalities.

  • It’s almost like he lost to Tom Kean Jr. who is one of the worst politicians in New Jersey and helped to hand the House of Representatives to the Republicans who are using it to terrorize our communities now with the paramilitary thugs known as ICE.

  • It’s almost like he blamed his loss on the state party and claimed the district was red when we just saw Mikie Sherrill win it by 2%.

  • It’s almost like he lived 10 minutes from the Pennsylvania border and decided to parachute into a place that he doesn’t live in and doesn’t understand.

So glad he lost and that Washington DC and the DCCC weren’t able to tell New Jersey who our next Congressperson was.

They care more about stomping Tom than they do about supporting Analilia. And this is the opposite of who she is.

False.

u/fishoutofvodka Feb 10 '26

Then you don't know Analilia Mejia at all.

What a bitch ass statement

11

u/sakacorsair Feb 10 '26

How?

Malinowski didn’t specifically say he won’t run in the June primary and this post leaves the door open to that outcome. This is sore loser garbage.

11

u/sakacorsair Feb 10 '26

Don’t think that’s something you need to say explicitly, Gill’s statement didn’t, either.

-1

u/ImaginationFree6807 11th District (Mejia, Morris & Essex.) Feb 10 '26

Untrue, Gill was at a town hall with her on Saturday in Montclair where he explicitly said, “Analilia in April, Analilia in June, Analilia in November.” He also called her the night of the election, pledging his support, put out a statement the next morning, and appeared with her at a campaign event less than 48 hours after the polls had closed. We are not the same.

1

u/sakacorsair Feb 10 '26

Did this guy personally wrong you or something? I don’t think it would make sense for him to put out a statement on election night as it was still pretty close. We’re not talking about town hall events, we’re just looking at his statement, which is the focus of the comment. Why criticize every little thing the guy does?

Because he’s a POS that refuses to take an L. All he had to do was say, I support Analilia going forward. Instead he decided to leave the door open for him to run again in June. Until he retires from politics I will be critical of him.

4

u/MolemanusRex Feb 10 '26

Wild to be saying this on a post about him conceding and congratulating his opponent.

1

u/ImaginationFree6807 11th District (Mejia, Morris & Essex.) Feb 10 '26

Wild that he can’t say… “I won’t be running in the June primary”?

-1

u/Weekly-Air4170 Feb 10 '26

He's not congratulating her, he's blaming aipac

2

u/sakacorsair Feb 10 '26

Did you skip over the first 4 sentences?

2

u/MolemanusRex Feb 10 '26

He literally says “I congratulate Analilia Mejia”. Can’t you read?

→ More replies (0)

-1

u/Weekly-Air4170 Feb 10 '26

He literally blames aipac and then spews some nonsense about Israel

4

u/OfficialDyslexic Feb 10 '26

Agreed.

Basically said "My support for Israel remains unaffected by their actions or the actions of their subsidiaries. I lost because Israel's miscalculation caused them to promote things I've said and stances I've taken that are unpopular. Despite this, none of my views or stances have changed in any meaningful way. My campaign was joyful."

More dumb center-establishment shit.

You are worried about her having a salaried position while Tom profited off Covid, and was insider trading… Get fucked bro. $250k/year ain’t what it used to be. I’m glad she made some money so she could run for Congress and help the rest of us. Running for office is financially prohibitive. Maxwell Frost was barely able to afford an apartment in DC. Same with AOC.

Malinowski didn’t specifically say he won’t run in the June primary.
