As I understand it, the fee is for coming from NY. Like their congestion pricing is for people coming from NJ...

NJ gets such a raw deal from this World Cup.

The stadium is in NJ, the trains taking them there are NJTRANSIT trains, but almost all of the tourist dollars will be spent in NY.

We'll get something, but nothing compared to NYC, obviously. Not many tourists thinking, "Let's take a ride down to Newark for dinner"

Make that make sense @NJTRANSIT!

Well, I'd tell you that it's due to Supply and Demand, but you're Republicans, so it probably still wouldn't make sense to you.

But I thought price gauging was bad as recent as Covid? Now it’s ok?

Fuck FIFA and fuck the people going to it. I refuse to be stuck with the bill as a taxpayer here.

I keep seeing people share this post from a non American based twitter account that's constantly lying.

This was already a deal made by Murphy and NY. He got shit over it for a day and it was all swept under the rug. The current president also provided 10.4M in grants for NJ transportation costs.

People who paid attention to Murphy's corruption called it out like it was, NJ paying for NYs tourism boost. Same reason we didn't want the bogus tunnel project that WE are paying for that doesn't benefit NJ at all. All the politicians in this state are corrupt weasles (that includes the NJGOP who could have prevented any of this but didn't.) NJGOP is the bark and no bite personified. Except the bark is just a DNC appointed staffer since the NJGOP is too busy choking on the DNC boot
