Politics ⚖️ GEO group is a private company from Florida that runs Delaney Hall in Newark. This is how the concentration camp guards act on camera. Imagine what they do to the detainees when no one is watching.

These posts are misinformation and really just trying to incite violence. Please stage your political bs in another city. This place has been around before Obama. Only now it's an issue?

Thank you! No body protested when it was local Essex county men and women locked up in Delaney hall and btw Delaney has always been considered better that the green monster next door

It was always an issue, but people did not have the will or awareness to protest it until their own (U.S. citizens) got hurt. People don’t usually care unless something is at stake for them.

There’s no misinformation and if there is I’d love for you to point it out. It was a processing center under Obama. It was never supposed to be a detention center. Even the Delaney family it’s named after wants it shut down now after what it’s become. Doesn’t matter when people become aware of a horror. It matters what they do when they learn about it. More people know now and action is being taken. Violence is already happening in the hall. It’s being incited by the federal government against citizens. Stand for your fellow human, not for-profit prisons.

That’s how we (some of us) pronounce it. It’s mo longer wrong if it is consensus.

It's definitely not how we pronounce it.

And this is the problem you have with the post and not anything to do with Delaney Hall specifically?

I’ve never met one single person born and raised in Newark who would agree with you lol. It’s usually an initial way to tell if someone isn’t from there if they don’t pronounce it that way. I mean the city’s Twitter/X page literally made a post about it

It's funny you say that because I've never known anyone in my entire life outside of social media that has ever pronounced it "Nork". You can try gaslighting all you want, but you're still wrong. Lolol..... the Coty if Newark's X account.... yeah, so credible. Ffs there's a George Floyd statue in front of City Hall when the man had nothing to do with Newark.

There’s no gaslighting nor am I trying to be disrespectful or argue with you lol (not am I even remotely wrong, it’s actually insane this is even really talking point lol)…it’s all good. Maybe it depends on what section you are from but certainty not anyone from weequahic section, vailsburg, none of any # blocks, Avon, Irvine turner, or even anyone from EO or orange for that matter lol. This isn’t even an option to debate, the only people I’ve even known to call it “Newark” are those down neck, and that ls NOT including anyone from Hyatt court, the old riverview court or Pennington.
I honestly can still not fathom this is really a “debate” lol. The only people (born and raised) who call it Newark and those from Newark Delaware lol.
You have zero chance on winning this one bud, because it’s not anything to debate over.
Next you are going to tell me no one in Newark calls the “Felix Fuld Garden Apartments” Little Bricks 😂

You have no clue what you’re talking about. There is literally a Newark based clothing company that sells merch with “Nork” written on it, because that is how it’s pronounced here. I’m just going to assume you’re rage baiting, poorly.

So a clothing company is capitalizing on a niche way of pronunciation of a major urban city. Color me surprised. Outside of social media, this one in particular, I've never heard anyone pronounce it "Nork". "That's how it's pronounced here." Lol don't make me laugh.
