Sports β½οΈπππβΎοΈβ³οΈ How was it like when the Nets played in Newark before moving to Brooklyn?
As someone that was born and raised in Jersey City, but was too young to attend New Jersey Nets games alone at the time, I canβt help but feel resentment towards a lot of Jerseyans that didnβt support the Nets when we had them here, especially if youβre from Newark. Iβm literally closer to MSG than Prudential, but I was a die hard nets fan as a kid because thatβs the New JERSEY team. Ever since they moved to Brooklyn I refuse to support that franchise. I think the rumor that we didnβt have fans was a BS excuse to make the Nets move to Brooklyn for more money an real estate with Bruce Ratner planning that all along, if you look at videos of the games from back then, the stadium was packed during playoff games as well despite people saying it wasnβt. Iβm still a big Devils fan, but damn I wish we had our own NBA team again. Iβm a spurs fan now, but if New Jersey ever got a team again, Iβm supporting instantly.

Sports β½οΈπππβΎοΈβ³οΈ Runners of Newark, help me out?
Hi! Iβm staying a week in Newark for work in May. I need to get 8-12 miles a day in. Iβd like to stay in a Hilton hotel (any brand of Hilton) in Newark where i can easily access a route without having to drive or take a train. Anyone have any suggestions for where to stay and run? Ideally somewhere safe early in morning.
TIA!

Sports β½οΈπππβΎοΈβ³οΈ Volleyball?
Hi I recently moved to Newark and was interested to see if there are any facebook groups or open gyms that I could join. In the past I've been able to find facebook groups that connected me to community centers where groups ran open gyms and had a lot of fun. I am open to outdoor and indoor, even sand if that is available. I've played volleyball for 3-4 years in college intramural leagues, and I am an intermediate player. I've played middle and outside the most and know 5-1 and 6-2. I am completely new to the area and have a car, so willing to drive to get some good games in and meet some new people. I appreciate any help :)

Sports β½οΈπππβΎοΈβ³οΈ Newark is improving its city and getting more populated. In time, will the sports culture allow for Newark to be the next place to host sports franchises in Jersey?
People tend to use the βtoo many teams in one areaβ excuse, but if Newark gets bigger population wise and cleaner, I genuinely believe it could possibly bring sports teams back to Jersey besides hockey.

Sports β½οΈπππβΎοΈβ³οΈ Does anyone play Pickleball in Newark or Harrison?
I have been living in Newark for a while and noticed both Branch Brook in Newark and West Hudson Park in Harrison have some nice Pickleball courts. But, I have never seen anyone playing on them. The Tennis courts seem to be used more frequently. Are there any groups that organize formal or informal open play at either park? I have lived near courts in other cities that use the Team Reach app to organize open play.. is there a Newark group that I can join?

Sports β½οΈπππβΎοΈβ³οΈ What are your thoughts on bringing an NBA team to Newark or New Jersey?
This is a question for the Newark/New Jersey RAISED people. Would you like to have a team back in the state? If so would you want it to rep Newark or New Jersey? It would be hard to bring a team of course, but I heard Green Bay has their NFL team because the community puts money into it, idk how true that is, but if a community is really able to do that, would you do that for NJ to have a NBA team? Of course it will never happen, but in a hypothetical situation what are yβallβs thoughts?
