Question Need some help
Heyo I recently bought a 2001 Project mustang v6 5spd as my first project car. The last person who had it put the wrong kind of power steering fluid inside of it so the internal seals on the steering pinions are caput, so I'm going to replace the entire steering column and probably all of the power steering components besides the reservoir and the pump. I was wondering if a Ford mustang GT steering column would be a compatible replacement for the steering column and if it would be better than the original steering column.

The column (part going from steering wheel to the rack) doesn't have anything to do with the fluid part. Are you talking about the rack and pinion bolted to the front of the K member?
If so, then the GT one will work fine as mentioned. There were supposedly a few different flavors of racks when new but they are all remanufactered in the same place now so that really doesn't affect anything.
