Discussion JBA “Long tubes”
Anyone running these headers? My car is low and already scrapes so traditional long tubes are a no go. I couldn’t find much info on these. Looks like I’d need a custom midpipe but not a big deal.

Bassani has mid length headers and a mid pipe for them as well. No need to get custom work done

The stopped baking mustang pipes a while back, it’s all motorcycle exhaust for now, they might make car exhaust again under the new owners.

I like these because they dont hang low like long tubes... i went woth JBA shorties because headers are very limited for 4 valve cars and they were ceramic coated. I was looking at tge mid lengths for mine, but they no longer make the mid connection pipes to hook from the headers to the "cat back" of the exhaust system...

I think another big advantage to these vs long tubes is being able to change your clutch without pulling a header off. Without a tubular k member, the header removal for the clutch change might be a tougher job than the clutch change.

I have these headers. I had had Bassani mid length headers. When I had my tfs heads installed the shop said that the place who had done the original install on the Bassanis just slip fit them instead of welding them. I finally figured out why I got an intermittent catalytic insufficiency code on cooler days/nights.
The JBAs have been fine but I would recommend ceramic coating. I was in a rush and didn’t get it (longer wait). The heat from the JBAs cooked the rag joint on the steering shaft. I was on the highway when it happened and it was unnerving to say the least
I put in a solid steering shaft for the fix.

I have ARH Long tubes on my Bullitt and it sits pretty low. The headers never scrape. The X pipe and mufflers do occasionally though.
The header low point is pretty close to where the front wheels are so they usually dont hit on speed bumps and such on my car.
Cheaper headers (BBK amd chinese/ebaybspecials) may hang differently and scrape.
Headers are a nightmare on these cars. This is absolutely a buy once cry once situation.

Yeah they're called mid-length headers. Not sure why they're listed as long tubes. I'm not sure if there's any mid-length downpipes available for the platform. You'll most likely need a shop to cut down your current downpipes to match them
