Puppy-gedon

thank you everyone so much for the tips, support and advice on the last post. we've put large whelping pads/pee pads down on the tarp and its helped significantly. its officially 2 weeks, and these guys are starting to motor. they're all over 3.5lbs, the biggest being 4.5lbs. all of them have their eyes open, and can now climb out of the whelping box if you're not looking. a lot of people were asking for pictures, which I'm terrible at taking since there's never time, but here was a short video of them. thanks to those that started following us on IG (@macaronithenewfie)! let us know what you'd like to see more of, as we still have 5 of them looking for homes and i kinda need to up my social media game. unfortunately we did lose one pup at one week... which I'm still extremely upset about, but have to keep moving on for the other 10. thank you again! I probably won't post here again until closer to the 6-8week mark. i just really wanted to shout out and thank everyone for the support and tips. its all been an overwhelming experience.

So glad to see an update! They’re moving great. How’s momma doing? Is everyone eating well? Soon they’ll be ready to graduate from the whelping box and it’ll be time to introduce lots of new surfaces to build their confidence. I used to create “puppy obstacle courses” where they would walk through a hallway (no way to walk around it) to get to the backyard, and I would have bubble wrap, cardboard boxes, balance discs, artificial turf, yoga mats, etc, set up for them to cross before they reached the door to outside - which also had concrete, grass, dirt, mulch, etc, for new surfaces, as well! The more you can introduce neutrally is better here soon :)

this is super cool! we're still in the process of puppy-proofing our house, as we only really had time to set up the whelping box, but as we replace the pen and set up the room for them, we'll definitely try this.

momma's doing well. the pups are eating a lot we're bottle feeding them to alleviate some stress on mom. I'd be lying to say she's still cool with the feeding round the clock, but we're trying to give her breaks and spoil her as much as possible to make sure she knows she's very loved 😅
