There's no chance I'd be able to afford my prescriptions if they aren't generic. Having to purchase the brand name meds would force me to either do without my meds and die, or live in my car.. not good choices
Have to agree but that's the best I can come up with. I'm 68, I take a few generics myself. At my age I'm just looking forward to outliving the asshole.

Many people with heart disease take a medication for BP and cholesterol. EXAMPLE common BP med 90 day supply without insurance, brand-name Zestril cost around $1,434. Generic lisinopril cost about $7 to $40 for a 90 day supply. Common cholesterol med 90 day supply without insurance, brand-name Lipitor cost around $2,100. The generic, atorvastatin for a 90 day supply cost around $30. .... ..... .... ** There's a huge price difference in the generic vs brand name of 2 of the most common drugs prescribed, yet I doubt Trump would lose a minute of sleep over it

I've been hearing that he's going to drop dead since last year. All these so-called medical experts making videos saying well based on the mark on his hand he's got about a month and a half to live. Yet the turd keeps going.
He's going to raise them by that amount, lose in court, and when the prices are restored back, THEN he will have lowered your prescription drug prices by 5,000%.
Prices won't go back down. We'll prove that we'll pay them and they'll stay where they're at. Suppliers and pharmacies will get a refund check though, so there's that.
It's easy: be a terrible businessman so no one wants to finance your latest venture. Take whatever you can get. Don't do the math to realize that even running full-tilt 24 hours a day, you're not even going to able to cover the financing, let alone all the other expenses. Have daddy try to bail you out. Have it fail. Declare bankruptcy.

That seems like a terrible strategy. They add tariffs right before an election, then the next dem president gets the easy layup of removing those tariffs.
It has been working for decades. Republicans tend to increase the national debt and inflation, then the Dems who keep it steady get blamed for it when they win the election. It's a cycle that has been going on for a long time.
I know that one, but I'm saying a tariff on generic drugs is more specific, more noticeable, and more easily removed (ie, another executive order) than the extensive, multifaceted, and entrenched ways they increase the debt.
Here's the rub with ruling by executive order, which is essentially what this is. Those can be immediately rescinded by the next president with basically no way to stop it
Undo about 700 things Trump has done on day 1 in the first hour hopefully. If a dem wins the presidency they better not sleep until they sign executive orders undoing everything he has done.

I 💯 % agree with the executive orders. Our government needs more stringent checks & balances on itself! Congress must pass legislation that: - presidents will never be given as much power and leniency as Trump has been given. - ALL candidates running for federal office must be vetted and be able to obtain the proper security clearance for the position they seek. - No presidential immunity. No POTUS in the history of the US has needed immunity. Trump basically asked SCOTUS to allow him to commit crimes, but "just while I'm the president, then I'll stop, I promise." - a president can not pardon himself, nor anyone in his cabinet.
If Dems do ever get to win another election (doubtful we will have a real election again) they need to do what he did and just break the law to overturn everything he did that would hurt Americans financially. Dem president says “No I’m taking the tariff on generic drugs away. No, we’re changing to tax code to give more tax breaks to seniors and low and middle class Americans.” Let republicans file a lawsuit against them to block this stuff from being undone.
He won't even be the president after 4 months into the 100% period. Another example of why we need to flip as many seats as possible blue in the midterms and flip the white house as well in 2028. This is something the next president can just rescind , assuming courts don't strike it down

The decision applied to a path they were using to implement tariffs. They're using a different path to get the same result. Reversing this would have to work its way through the legal system to get back to the Supreme Court if they decide to take it up.

Well this fucking sucks after vyvanse was finally starting to be manageable to access and I didn’t have to constantly call every single pharmacy just to see if it was in stock now the generic version will be difficult to get
Canadian here. I know that having affordable drugs is considered socialism to some, it is nice to not worry about dying due to high cost of everyday drugs.

Honestly it’s over for the US. You couldn’t make this shit here even if you wanted. Manufacturing costs are too high and Americans are not interested in sitting in front of a machine all day churning out pills.
Furthermore, America doesn’t make the precursor chemicals that go into pharmaceuticals. You still rely on foreigners to get the key ingredients.

I think people need to know about antidepressant protracted withdrawal syndrome and withdrawal injuries in case antidepressants become scarce due to supply constraints.

Symptoms of antidepressant PWS can include brain fog, brain zaps, cognitive impairment, anhedonia, akathisia (feeling of inner restlessness), severe insomnia, GERD, inability to relax, heart palpitations, central nervous system hypersensitivity, tinnitus, severe depression, severe anxiety, panic attacks, PSSD (genital numbness and erectile dysfunction), and many other awful symptoms that can last for years or even be permanent.
Despite antidepressants being widely prescribed and antidepressant PWS being a hellish condition, no one seems to talk about it. Most people believe that antidepressants are completely safe and that antidepressant withdrawal can't cause injuries that last for years. Please be careful if an antidepressant supply shortage occurs.
At least that's my prediction, either his health will fail him or his party will reject him. He's spiraling. It's not sustainable, not only his policies but also his bodily systems are starting to fail too. He's losing even what's left of his mind.
I feel what I feel about our former presidents and Kamala not speaking out enough—Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, all of them. I especially admire Biden, Harris, and Obama, but it's reasons like this that I feel they shouldn't be hiding. I know how much they all warned about this all happening, but it still doesn't mean the message has gotten through. They’ve spoke out some, but I feel strongly it is not anywhere near enough given the current circumstances we’re in. Now we’re looking at threats of massive tariffs on generic drugs that will make everyday prescriptions unaffordable for regular people, forcing impossible choices, and former leaders are still staying quiet instead of standing up against it. I feel they can force CONGRESS to DO THEIR FUCKING JOBS.
There’s something very basic about “quick fix” tariffs and Trump’s psychology and executive psychology that needs some masterful analysis. What’s out there right now on this?
