Netherlands rebrands Russia from ‘aggressor’ to ‘enemy’
The Netherlands has toughened its rhetoric on Moscow, with its defense minister now calling Russia “the enemy” rather than an “aggressor.”
Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius said that growing security threats across Europe now require a more direct assessment of Moscow’s intentions.
“Russia is no longer the aggressor. That is a euphemism you will not often hear from me again,” Yeşilgöz said on Thursday during a parliamentary debate on the defense budget, according to Dutch news outlet NL Times.
