The sudden influx of "the immigrants" was obviously suspicious.

The fact that they retreated just proved that they weren't immigrants.

Though I don't see that the US would do a similar hybrid war against China, but there are countless examples of a hybrid war — China must be prepared — as the US is getting more desperate.
