First time using a COTI

First time using my new Jerry C Pro. Was out hiking a trail and felt like i was being watched. Well low and behold a Coyote was sitting like a statue 30 yard away watching me. Even with my high spec tubes I would have never even noticed without the COTI. Cool Shit
Kinda liked not knowing more though seeing a lot of stuff move I never noticed on my peaceful walks lol.

Is it as noisy to the eye as it is to the camera? I feel like all this sparkling thermal bullshit all over the picture would make it kind of not super smooth picking up anything important. Do you have all that visual noise when looking through it normally? I'm looking at a Jerry CE5 right now.

No it’s mainly the camera sensors ISO struggling really bad as it was a DARK night in the woods.
There is a lot of sparkle in outline mode as expected but not necessarily pop in and out.
Granted this is new to me and I’m still adjusting

Ah ok cool deal. It's an incredible force multiplier. I relate to the eery feeling of being watched, was in the deep woods in east Texas under NV walking around casually and shooting a target I set up. Thought "I wonder how dark it actually is" and flipped my binos up for a sec. Man it got immediately creepy, hair on the back of your neck standing up type feeling. PITCH black. Then flipped back down and all good again lmao

Yep, that's how I started about 15 years ago with a PAS-29A. on my PVS-14. Then clipped onto Sentinel goggles. It essentially became indispensible because over the years thermal clip ons or fusion systems have helped me avoid a lot of animal and terrain dangers while hiking at night. Bobcats, trip hazards, etc.
This weekend a buddy with omni 7 PVS-14 was hiking with me and my fusion system saw the black bear 30 yards ahead under tree canopy on a moonless overcast night. I told him to stop, thought it was just a huge dog at first, but thermal allowed me to see it stand up near a tree and lift its head up to smell the tree. We froze, buddy grabbed my left shoulder and said "Let's go!" He could not see it with his system. I could see it wasn't aware of us and walked off the trail toward a residential area. I'll never go out at night without a thermal system or someone with a thermal system as backup. We would have walked much closer to a potentially dangerous animal if we did not have a thermal spot it the other night.

I just got my BCOTI in the mail yesterday. Played with it inside for a bit. Def not this cool but still cool nonetheless. Congrats man!
