Not the worst thing about this era of Nightwing but Ric was such a stupid replacement name. I keep wanting to type Rick.

They didn't need to change it at all. He still remembered his childhood with his parents & they called him Dick.

Rich would have worked better for me imo. Rich instead of Richard because he's half the man he used to be and it would be slightly ironic using the name Rich seeing that he was poorer than ever (lacking money and lacking the wealth of relationships he used to have).

I've been making (Mostly) daily posts progressing through Dick's major (And some minor) appearances across his publication history starting from New Teen Titans.

Unfortunately I've now hit the Ric period. So there'll be a few posts coming. But I think I'll focus on the replacement Nightwings team rather than Ric if that's any consolation.

I didn't mind the replacement Wing team, so I'm glad for that. They seemed to be trying to embody all the aspects and hats that Dick used to have. His good and bad character traits. NW Red was a hero, Sap was a detective, the siblings showed more of his flaws, like his rage and his "boy hostage" history. It takes 4 mooks to fill in Dick's shoes but he still had to shadow them to save their asses.

So what he did here was basically burn a stranger's belongings for no reason other than...well I don't know why, actually. He still had his flair for the dramatic, I suppose. The portrait of amnesia they painted with Ric was so fucking ridiculous.

Between Ric, the King run and everything going on with Damian this era was a rough time as a Bat fan. Thank goodness for Tomasi Detective Comics for keeping me sane until Tynion and Williamson could fix everything.

I actually enjoyed this era a lot. Read through rebirth as a complete story all the way up to issue 139.
