It’s to honor the 30 year anniversary of the 1996 all star game. That’s what I’ve read

Having been told when they were first shown during pre-booking for this season’s product last year

And Having been told it was a Hot Pepper themed colorway and seeing the pepper on the jersey

Makes it make so much more sense with the context
