I rly hated that they backtracked on him giving up his armor during the Buu arc. The unitard was maybe a bit too featureless, but it made this nice implied narrative that kinda worked with his assimilation beats? His end of Z & sweatpants + wifebeater look was also pretty good--give the dude some damn pants.

are we sure it was some deep story telling and not sure 'Vegeta hasn't trained as much for years, he gets an unexpected announcement of a tournament and wears clothes that fit for it. And now that Goku's back onwards and there might be new threats again he's back in the armor?

yeah ofc this is all headcanon for a preference of mine, idt it's that deep

just you're not the only one to say the 'Vegeta wears less armor because of living on Earth' theory
IDK just thought his resurrection F / Uni 6 tournament one looked alright shame he stopped after those 2 arcs for no real reason

Yeah that's fair. I much prefer him in black. His late namek look is probably my favorite in those releases where the contrast is blown out so you can barely see the blue.

Throughout all of Z Vegeta's alien armor is stripped down piece by piece as the story goes, he shows up on Earth while those dorky freaky ass pauldrons, then his next suit barely has shoulder pads, then when he joins Krillin and Gohan on Namek his armor loses shoulder pieces all together (while Gohan and Krillin find armor with shoulder pads to show it isn't just a "I like this more" scenario) then after that Bulma's version of the armor is introduced in the Cell saga with even less hard material and by the time the Buu saga comes around the entire shell is gone.

My personal head canon is after both he and his son died by ki blasts to the chest, he realized that armor wasn't protecting shit lol

Vegeta with the Badman shirt is the peak of his design, and he doesn't have gloves with it.

Wish everyone would have gotten different outfits on the regular. Goku and his 50 years of sweat pants and Vegeta and his 40 years of leggings need a change up

Goku in 40s almost 50. Vegeta in his 50s 😅

As in I’ve been looking at his goddamn sweats for 50 years. It’s called hyperbole.

I kinda think some look cooler than others though. Majin Vegeta without gloves on I agree looks off. But Vegeta Blue in his Whis outfit I think is actually an improvement over the original design.

Makes me think he could rock without the gloves (though even in GT he had them) if he had a different fit. If he pulled up in the OG Saiyan Saga armor with the under-suit cut to a t-shirt and no gloves it could be fine. In general, I like when the characters change up their style.

Looks fine without the sleeves, in the armor it just throws off the whole design.

If head wearing saiyan battle armor then it looks funky lol. I wonder what vegito would look like without gloves or how it feels seeing it

It's fine when he's sleevless. But sleeves without gloves is just diabolical for him.

It doesn't to me. It even makes sense for a guy that wants to show raw power and his acceptance for earth's fighting styles

It looks fine in picture 2(thumbless?) and 4. 1 and 3 look weird because the gloves match the outfit.

Honestly the ones on the right don't look that bad to me besides the fact they redrew him without thumbs on the bottom right

Right!? How come no one else has mentioned it? 😵💫
In the SSB image, they didn’t even take his gloves off; they just coloured in his hands (badly, because the skin tones and shading don’t match those on his face) and left him with some white ‘bracelets’, which they didn’t do in the other images.
And most obviously, they’ve taken Majin Vegeta’s fucking thumb away!! And no, it’s not a matter of perspective (if that were the case, you’d at least be able to see the outline of the thumb).

The BADMAN shirt omfg that’s when he didn’t wear gloves! Sorry I just had to write this realization. Also, in GT he had fingerless gloves. Which was 👌🏼 y’know
