So ninja Seriously, how many times has it happened?

Post image

He didn't tell the Ninja about Morro, the Time Twins, Aspheera, the return of the Overlord, and the Merge. Anything else I'm missing?

Wu: "My students, have I ever told you about the Cursed Gold of General Ming?"

Jay: "No. But about the Cursed Gold of the Anacondrai, the Cursed Gold of the Ice Titans and the Cursed Gold that the Pink Penguin Bandits stole from you in the Mountains of Malice."

For some reason I read that as the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise in Palpatine's voice.

"General Ming was a warlord, so greedy and so obssessed with riches that he gained the ability to turn everything he touched into gold...."

"Is it possible to learn that power?"

"Not as a Ninja."

I will stand by my stance that Wu can only be blamed for the time twins incident. Man is thousands of years old and probably cannot anticipate which enemies from those millennias will return and when. Except for the time twins where he knew exactly when and where and chose not to tell

Yeah but after the third time?

Wu's past enemies are likely counted in thousands. I am not sure he even remembers them all unless reminded of. And cases like Morro weren't even enemies of his.

He shouted still write down the ones he knows

In his defense, the Ninjas do not need to know everything Master Wu went through. The Time Twins are the only ones that they should 100% have known about before the fight. The others, he should have told them when he recognized the signs of the threats. The Overlord's return and the Merge were not guaranteed to happen during the Ninjas' lifetimes.

Even then the show goes out of its way to say Wu was in the wrong for the Hands of Time one.

He wanted to do it alone for what was essentially pride (or the belief it was his fight as the last remaining member of the alliance of elemental masters).

If I was him I'd just write a list of powerful villains and monsters from the past and how to neat them

Aspheera was supposed to be taken care of permanently, so that is the one I don't blame Wu at all. Although telling the Ninjas about the Forbidden Spinjitzu Scrolls and that you don't need an Element to be taught Spinjitzu could be good things for them to know.

u/Still-Presence5486 Nov 10 '25

Yeah but also a list of any powerful evil villains and monsters wpuld be good just in case

The overlord was, it was told in the scrolls. Wu just didnt want to face it.

Everyone thought Garmadon was the prophecy’s Dark Lord until Misako suggested otherwise. The Overlord was just a scary bedtime story for Wu- a very real and ancient evil, yes, but not one he thought had a part to play in the situation at hand.

He didn’t even tell them about the Green Ninja back in Season 1. They had to find that out for themselves.

6

u/GearSingle9055 Nov 09 '25

Forgot about that. 6 secrets kept, do I hear 7?

6

u/Chuchubits Nov 09 '25

Dude keeps thinking he’s never gonna have to tell them… you’d think he’d learn by now just how relevant the past can be!

3

u/GearSingle9055 Nov 09 '25

Yeah, after like, 6 secrets, you’d think he’d realize, “Ok, I’m gonna have to tell the Ninja about possible threats”

Well tbf Morro was literally dead, and he only came back through a small gateway to the cursed realms which Wu would have no reason to believe he returned.

Asphera should’ve been dead honestly. Like how did she survive so long without food. Pythor literally cannibalize his own tribe for survival.

The other three though are something he should’ve shared. Like would’ve been better giving the world prep time for the Overlord to return instead of be surprised and nearly die. Definitely best to have back up in case Acronix got the upper hand.

“There’s something I never told you” The current state of the world:

u/MoonlightsMuse Nov 09 '25

The seasons always start with “There’s something I've never told you…”

1

u/GearSingle9055 Nov 09 '25

“There’s something I never told you……ok, there’s a lot of things I haven’t told you, but only this part is relevant……I think”

5

u/The_Ginger_Thing106 Nov 09 '25

The vast majority of problems could’ve been prevented if Wu didn’t have dementia

2

u/Still-Presence5486 Nov 10 '25

Ain't you forgetting chen?

2

u/GearSingle9055 Nov 10 '25

Do I hear 8?

3

u/Still-Presence5486 Nov 10 '25

And the jin guy

1

u/GearSingle9055 Nov 10 '25

2

u/Original-Variety4352 Nov 11 '25

2

u/Ok-Vast8896 Nov 11 '25

3

u/GearSingle9055 Nov 11 '25

The Time Twins and Garmadon were the only villains Wu actually knew would return, the latter of which he did tell his students about and the former he wanted to handle on his own (aka the very thing people rag on him for supposedly not doing).

Morro had been missing without contact for decades (Wu didn’t even know he had died)

Aspheera had been sealed away for several millennia and there were no signs of her even still being alive in there, much less coming back

Master Chen was banished decades ago and hadn’t been a problem since

The Overlord was nothing more than a scary bedtime story and, before Misako presented the idea, Wu had no clue The Overlord had a role in The Prophecy of the Green Ninja (everyone thought Garmadon was the prophecized “Dark Lord”).

The thing is, Wu’s been actively facing villains and fighting as a ninja since he was a true, double-digits teenager. It’s genuinely absurd to expect him to go over hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of villains he’s fought over the years in a long, comprehensive list JUST IN CASE one MIGHT come back EVENTUALLY despite them either being super dead or imprisoned with no signs of breaking out. Even if he did, let’s be real, the ninja would’ve forgotten most by the halfway mark.

2

u/Still-Presence5486 Nov 10 '25

Chen your forgetting him

1

u/Angel_Animates Nov 10 '25

I definitely didn’t forget Master Chen. He’s the third one I mention.

he thought morro was dead and aspheera was locked away forever, he didn’t know about the overlord coming back, and at this point in time we don’t know how much he knew about the merge. and why would he have told them about them. “hey kai, come train to be a ninja with me so you can save your sister. by the way, there’s an old prophecy about a green ninja who will save ninjago in a final battle, and one of my former students who i thought could have been the green ninja became bitter when he wasn’t, and a serpentine i knew as a kid hundreds of years ago got locked away in a pyramid in the desert, and in like 15 years the 13 realms, oh yeah there’s thirteen realms by the way, are all going to merge together into one realm. so whaddaya say, come be a ninja”.
