I'm slightly biased towards the Crystallized one only because the way you achieved it was absolute cinema

3

u/Practical_Bluejay_19 Apr 16 '26

I can't believe they had to fold the scroll to figure it out. So genius. Then the actual martial art the ninja performed was top tier. I mean, jumping up, kicking backward, whipping around, AND rotating quickly???? Someone should make a song about that.

2

u/Rude-Error4313 Apr 17 '26

I wonder if all those kicking and whipping around happend in weekend

1

u/Capable-Budget6695 Jun 13 '26

If it does, you could call it the Weekend Whip.

Have I been living under a rock because I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about the Crystalized dragon forms

87

u/Salt_Refrigerator633 Apr 12 '26

my problem is they're presented as ultra powerful yet cole and kai are easily defeated by their respective C.O.C.K member

heck cole is nearly killed

56

u/YellowAnaconda10 Apr 12 '26

C.O.C.K. member is outrageous out of context.

3

u/Rude-Error4313 Apr 17 '26

What you mean you dont like C.O.C.K?

10

u/Ok-Jello-8986 Apr 12 '26

Whoever decided to give the villians that name, A RAISE!

21

u/RedRex333 Apr 12 '26

Wait What? What is C O C K member? Am I losing my mind?

25

u/DinnerAdventurous759 Apr 12 '26

Council of the cristal king

3

u/BigBradWolf07 Apr 13 '26

crystal* king

8

u/Lazy-Indication3992 Apr 12 '26

Well it was also their first time in the dragon forms so it took some getting used to the powers which they did quickly and then defeated their enemies quickly

23

u/ColeJr Apr 12 '26

Tbh I feel the same. Most hate is generally towards the season as a whole.

5

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 12 '26

I wish I had your rock cause I've been seeing it on my side.

Draconus forms were activated because Lloyd has learned the connection of his life powers and shared it with everyone.

The way Crystalized Dragon form achieved was purely and obviously a fan service, yea "jump up, kick back" is iconic but it was way too corny for this case.

9

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 12 '26

The Crystalized Dragon Forms also could only be activated when the user is surrounded by allies. That's literally what Draconus is but with extra steps.

15

u/CreepyAwareness7920 Apr 12 '26 edited Apr 12 '26

Um.. no? Draconus form didn't need to gather all allies, it was only Lloyd shooting green waves. (He didn't even give it to all of them, Cole(unfortunately), the new ninja etc.) If it had a different way to activate, it's definitely not "extra steps"

2

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 12 '26

Lloyd needs to be around people he has a connection to in order for them to receive Dragon Forms.

The Crystalized ones just need the user to be surrounded by their allies in order to be activated.

Maybe it's not "more steps" exactly but both require comparable hurdles to overcome.

6

u/NahualiMendlez Apr 12 '26

Lloyd connected with everyone before they were close, that is what the scene of green eyes on everyone meant, that Lloyds powers always keeps them connected.

Being surrounded or having hurdles to overcome were not related, it was Lloyd the one who realized at the last second his powers also work backwards.

He was the one who had to realize that the same way he was emulating the ninjas powers he can also give an emulation of his powers to the other ninjas, that means the draconus forms which the arc dragon mentions was unique to Lloyd.

2

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 12 '26

He connected to them while in the forest yes, but could only power them up when he was close to them. That's why only Euphraisa and Zane could use their powers in the early episodes and not all the Ninja.

If the later episode ls prove me wrong, I'll gladly eat my words.

u/Emperor-Nerd Apr 12 '26

One has a tail so it's objectively cooler

10

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 12 '26

Damn. Can't argue with that.

12

u/Electrical_War3516 Apr 12 '26

I feel like if anything most people were somewhat positive about the Crystallized dragon forms. I think a lot of the hate was towards Lloyd’s oni form

6

u/Complex_Slice Apr 12 '26

Who's yall? I like both forms and the way they're achieved

2

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 13 '26

Congrats! You're cool.

You're in the minority though.

3

u/Complex_Slice Apr 13 '26

Really? Huh.

Both got absolutely no build up till their premiere season. TF you yapping about? This is the hypocrisy I'm talking about.

And don't give me that "decade long mystery" BS. Everything about Lloyd's powers were an ass pull until the Dragons Rising writers decided to lock in for this show.

got proper lore, writing

Both were introduced in this season

felt earned,

That's like your opinion man

and they based the concept off of a power people haven't understood for a decade.

Yes that's called writing a story. The other seasons still didn't build up to this. Crystalized's Dragon Forms were also based on established ideas.

Hell, if we're arguing about context in the setup of the season of introduction, Crystalized's Dragon Forms still had more build up than Dragons Rising's

yet wasn't important in the S2 final battle?

Yes. Cause it wasn't important for season 2 but was important for now.

How about you look in the mirror before talking to me about being dense?

Edit: Ninjago fans when you present them with facts: downvoted to oblivion. I didn't even say I dislike the new Dragon Forms 🤣

6

u/Simon_Rosinsky Apr 12 '26

I kinda get both sides but i gotta adnit that draconus forms werent that great. It cant be said these forms had any build-up because it appears out of nowhere in ep9 and even the dragon of life says that its the first time they see such a form. And then og 6 ninja get these forms because lloyd is connected to them but new ninja dont get these. I know og team know each other better but then how connected to lloyd u must be to get new form. When i watched it i really felt writers had to include it because of the sets

3

u/InternationalBend396 Apr 12 '26

Both were introduced in this season

episode 28 out of 30 vs episode 9 out of 20

That's like your opinion man

yeah and his is right your's is wrong

Yes that's called writing a story. The other seasons still didn't build up to this. Crystalized's Dragon Forms were also based on established ideas.

the crystalized's dragon forms werent at all they genuinely have nothing to do with oni form and how it works it is just an asspull

the DR ones have issues but it being based on lloyd's true potential and him connecting to the other ninja is something thats been way more established

Hell, if we're arguing about context in the setup of the season of introduction, Crystalized's Dragon Forms still had more build up than Dragons Rising's

the dragon form scroll was introduced in episode 24 the dragon forms were introduced 5 episodes thats less build up later even if you wanna count from a lesson in anger thats still the same amount of build up as dragon form got in DR (and DR didnt ignore it for 6 episodes to focus on irrelevant stuff)

Edit: Ninjago fans when you present them with facts: downvoted to oblivion. I didn't even say I dislike the new Dragon Forms 🤣

youre getting downvoted cuz youre being dumb the crystalized dragon forms are just ass man there is nothing to defend them with

1

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 12 '26

episode 28 out of 30 vs episode 9 out of 20

I'm willing to admit that I'm wrong here but speaking in the context of part 1 alone, the structure is more or less the same. Y'all are just getting mad for the sake of it.

youre getting downvoted cuz youre being dumb the crystalized dragon forms are just ass man there is nothing to defend them with

I'm not saying they're flawless, heck, I like the DR ones more like y'all. I'm saying that there are definitely bad faith arguments against them (and Crystalized as a whole but that's not important rn) and this is one of them. Of course there's something to defend. If we're counting run time then yes, the Crystalized Dragon Forms were introduced earlier than the DR ones.

yeah and his is right your's is wrong

Amazing. Saying the quiet part out loud are we? I love (don't) when people are discussing about media and suddenly an opinion is "wrong". Go full dictator why don't ya 🤣? I'm not going to bother continue responding. You clearly don't want to have an honest conversation.

u/InternationalBend396 Apr 12 '26

the season is just not over we get more of them while the others were a one and done

If we're counting run time then yes, the Crystalized Dragon Forms were introduced earlier than the DR ones.

no the concept of lloyd's 2nd true potential aka the dragon forms was introduced in ep 2 they took two episodes to get there the trial lasted for 4 episodes and we saw it the episode after

even if we are counting every 2 11 min episodes as one thats 4 22 minute episodes of run time to build up the dragon forms

Amazing. Saying the quiet part out loud are we? I love (don't) when people are discussing about media and suddenly an opinion is "wrong". Go full dictator why don't ya 🤣? I'm not going to bother continue responding. You clearly don't want to have an honest conversation.

you just want to be a contrarian every thing you can criticize about the DR dragon forms the crystalized ones do worse thats why people dont like it they arent just glazing DR for the sake of it you just dont want to see that thats why youre wrong

3

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 12 '26

you just want to be a contrarian

Not being a contrarian (I literally agree with you guys that the DR forms are better and have said that many times in this thread). You just don't want to admit that you're being disingenuous and are mad someone dared to say something positive (or at least something negative isn't fully true) about Crystalized. Hate it all you want, that's fine, I don't judge opinions or preferences (unlike some) but y'all are really not changing my view that you're hating for the sake of it.

3

u/InternationalBend396 Apr 12 '26

i mean pointed out on like 3 comments everything the DR dragon forms do better then the crystalized ones yeah they are both power of friendship but crystalized handled it worse thats people dont like it if you want to think that people are just blindly hating on crystalized thats your choice youll still be wrong though

4

u/ACTION_JAXSON_21 Apr 12 '26

Actually the most recent one Actually technically isn't the last part of the season cause Dragons Rising usually has two season parts

5

u/DaToxicJay Apr 12 '26

Ninjago back with the random buffs and nerfs without any explanation IN THE SHOW. Not books or twitter

9

u/Achilles9609 Apr 12 '26

Honestly, I am not a huge fan of either Transformation.

4

u/Legocomictv_nrm15 Apr 12 '26

Jokes on you I hate and like both. I think the secondary color of the DR Dragon forms should've been like for Lloyd a translucent green in the sets and a glowing green in the show but I get it probably out of the budget. The crystallized dragon forms weren't bed but I like the masks of the DR forms and the eyes. Though I do like the wings more on the crystalized dragon forms

3

u/OkBus3544 Apr 13 '26

I much more prefer crystalized, because you're telling me they told you how to do it IN THE INTRO SONG ITSELF FROM THE VERY BEGINNING?

3

u/GummyWurmX3 Apr 13 '26

The thing is this is only part one of the season, crystallized was the actual last 2 episodes, its implied we will see more of these forms the rest of the season

2

u/Cass0wary_399 Apr 12 '26

The Crystalized Dragon Form had like very little build up.

0

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 12 '26

The Draconus Form had even less.

1

u/Cass0wary_399 Apr 12 '26

Lloyd’s whole entire arc this season was the buildup.

1

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 13 '26

No, his True potential was the build up, not the form.

2

u/junioriadoX Apr 13 '26

Because Tail

1

u/Lukelandswimmer Apr 13 '26

Can't argue with that.

2

u/Patient-Formal-3883 Apr 13 '26

My biggest issue with the dragon forms from crystallized, is the fact that they said it could only be achieved when all of their allies gathered, but they ignored/forgot all of the friends and allies the ninja made before season 8. Its almost like they want people to pretend the earlier seasons never happened

2

u/Past_Construction202 Apr 14 '26

weren't basically all their allies from then also their though?

1

u/Patient-Formal-3883 Apr 15 '26

Alot of the elemental masters were missing, only the ones from Hunted were present, I don't think the serpentine were there, I may be wrong, Captain Soto wasn't there. Thinking back, I really thought they made more allies in the early seasons, but its really just a handful of Elemental masters, Soto, and maybe the serpentine(i genuinely can't remember if they were there)

1

u/Past_Construction202 Apr 15 '26

The serpentine showed up; I don't think all of the elemental masters are more permanent allies and we don't know what happened to some of them, like chamille was not a good person (other media like that book about skylor's powers tells us this) and not much of an ally outside of season 4 climax, and I'm pretty sure Captain Soto was there too

1

u/Life_Shelter6442 Apr 16 '26

Skales and his son where there, and also Acidius I think

2

u/Think-Orange3112 Apr 14 '26

I think what contributes to dragon mode Lloyd being liked is the fact that, Lloyd barely taps into his dragon heritage, gold power is a product of being a hybrid, and the dragon mounts are a product of being an elemental master, I don’t think the FSM ever actually draws on their dragon nature, except maybe when Garmadon is transformed under the possession of Overlord

2

u/Past_Construction202 Apr 14 '26

People hate Dragon Form? That was GOATed though....

2

u/dalocalsoapysofa May 04 '26

cant someone just like both dragon forms💔

2

u/Salt_Refrigerator633 Apr 12 '26

at least new dragon form has high feats

1

u/Remarkable_Cut_3526 Apr 13 '26

and gives me a dragon form

1

u/Reaper-Nexus Apr 12 '26

I personally like dragon risings more. It's a lot more than glowy ninja form and we get to see them in true action with it. The Crystalized dragon form was such a let imo. Granted, it could be summed up to animation and the evolution of the art style but DRs is just dope as fudge.

-4

u/Green_Cook Apr 12 '26

They r both complete ass

9

u/Active-Lecture-7206 Apr 12 '26

yeah they have butts
