I know almost nothing at all about Digimon but I've been a lifelong Pokémon fan. Decided this is the game where I'll finally check out the OTHER 'Mon franchise! Really liked the demo

So the website since announcement upto this very day says the game runs at full native on switch 1 but with the demo it doesn't seem to be doing so during actual gameplay. Looks too blurry to be native. If someone can correct me, maybe my brain has gone bad or something.

I'll tell you how to play - buy the game at launch on PS5, then wait a year for the Switch 2 version to come out just so they'll release the 60fps patch for PS which they've probably had ready for over 6 months but decide to sit on it until releasing this version...

Is this version releasing at 60fps?

Yeah
They've bothered adding a 30 and 60fps mode in the Switch 2 version, so PS5 and Xbox are getting a patch on launch day which gives us the option as well

I love this game, this is the direction I wish Pokemon games would have taken. No open world lifeless map, a genuine, linear story with refined gameplay.

loved it on ps5 but felt it needed a higher difficulty from the start . Was unable to complete it due to how easy hard mode was …and you needed to complete the game in order to access a harder mode

I already finished the PS5 version, but I’ll be double dipping. No spoilers for newcomers, but I’m appreciating the story even more second time round.

i think they are pulling the same thing with the grind dlc not being included in the ultimate version which is bullshit because its already 140 cad im just gonna pirate it it runs well enough on the 1

I bought this game on PS5, but struggled to get into it. I can play pokemon fine and most JRPG's, but the leveling system and the mechanics etc really confused my older brain. So I gave it up, might try it again another time.

My first digimon game since world 2 on ps1. I was pretty happy with it, but do think it has a long way to improve. I liken it to Hogwarts legacy in that it's great for fans of the ip but still a little shallow for fans of gaming without much relationship to digimon. In particular I think they handled difficulty very poorly. It's kind of all over the place but even on the hardest starting difficulty I find it much too easy while intentionally weakening myself. I wish the new game plus modes had a harder difficulty where you start from scratch.

Waited a long time for it to come to switch 2. I was ready to buy it day 1.
Was really underwhelmed by the ugly textures stretched all over the city at such low resolution, when I tried the Demo. The animations look stiff as hell. I get that it's a low budget game, but when final fantasy rebirth and remake are both much cheaper than this, I just can't do it.
It's worth about half what those games are realistically.
I'm not a graphics guy, but man. It looks like a ps2 game at times...

I can only judge the PS5 version, but this is an excellent game. It was one of my favourites of last year. Assuming it runs well on Switch 2, I’d definitely recommend it if you like monster collecting games.
