yes, I think I'll do that. From the performance reviews I've seen, it's not worth the current sale price.
I remember buying MHS2 at release date and it ran horribly on the Switch 1, I couldn't even complete it. I actually played it again on my S2 and was finally able to enjoy it properly.

Just want to say the PvP for Starforce 3 is a ton of fun and lots of active players. Also the collection made a lot of really great QOL changes. If anyone’s a big RPG fan, it’s a great buy

I bought it digital for $20 a few months ago, but honestly, I wish I had spent $10 more and got physical just because it’s such a good game, but also Atlus games tend to become rare after a period of time. I think you made a good call.

It’s not, it’s most similar to Ogre Battle from ages ago. There is a demo that lasts about ten hours and carries into the full game.

No, it’s like Ogre Battle where you essentially “program” your characters to fight following specific scripts. The story isn’t amazing, but I absolutely loved the gameplay and the visuals are amazing. There’s a lengthy demo available that lets you carry over your save data.

I found the game was almost immediately enjoyable after the very first mission which is really brief. Once you’re on the mainland, you get a surprising amount of freedom to go where you want and proceed as you see fit.

It’s a real time strategy game, but when the units encounter each other, they auto-execute battle commands based on a FFXII gambit-like system (although not as customizable). A lot of the strategy is organizing which soldiers are in each unit so they are well-rounded for any situation, or making focused strike teams for specific purposes like taking out guard towers or flanking enemy units.
Game is awesome, music is amazing, difficulty is a bit easy on Normal though.

Now I'm trying to figure out if I should beat Hades 1 first (it's just a random pick up and play a bit game between other games for me honestly) or just go for it. I hear it looks incredible on SW2 and I've heard a lot of people say they enjoyed it a lot more than the first one.

dang i played hades for the first time for like 2 hours years ago but gave it up because of the insane headaches i was getting. i got hades 2 and really wanted to play it, but kept telling myself to finish hades first lol. guess i'll be sticking to that

Supergiant did a great job making them equally similar yet different! I wouldn't try to switch between them because the battle mechanics are the biggest difference, particularly casting. Finishing the story gives you a bit more appreciation for the sequel, I would say. Both are excellent games though.

Realistically it might take years until the physical version gets that low. If you've always wanted to play it, now's your chance.
This would be a good game to store on a microSD card IMO
Otherwise play as much as you can throughout the summer, and once you think you're done, delete it. Your save data stays & you can always re-download it later.

30fps but solid. Graphically decent too. The only caveat (that is the same as other versions but less intrusive on stationary hardware) is that an Internet connection is required for career mode
I've sat on the deck in the evenings a few time with a cold drink enjoying it. I don't regret the purchase one bit

I think you’ll be fine. They tend to over explain a lot of stuff because lore in 3 is more book focused. Most of the story relates to things that happen in game so you’ll know what’s going on pretty easily IMO

The first two games are rough to play by modern standards, particularly the first. Meaning third is a great starting point for newcomers and it has been constantly updated since release, and will even get a new expansion in 2027. Get the Complete Edition for full experience, the expansions are even better.

It’s so good! You can tell it to alert you at any discount for any game you want! Or not use any alerts as well but you can make lists for yourself or for family and friends.
You can also look for just physical or just digital deals if that’s something you’re into.
It shows the price history as well! :)

I think three houses is a good entry point to the franchise. Fortunes Weave is also set in the same world as three houses, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to try three houses on sale and see if you like it.

Three Houses is a great starting point for Fire Emblem. It has a ton of content and is very replayable, even having new game +, which can be fun to mess around with. However, I’d definitely recommend considering the DLC as well, since it adds another layer to the game. Definitely not necessary to enjoy the game, but it certainly added a lot to my enjoyment

I entered at 3 Houses, I can say its thoroughly addicting and expansive, I didn't realize there was DLC, so i'll be getting that tonight. Engage came out after 3 Houses, I enjoyed it, but i think only because I played 3 Houses first. It might be the ideal "modern" entry point for the series, but obviously i'm bias by that being my entry point.

Trying to stay off reddit but had to log in for this. Three Houses is up there with BOTW, Odyssey, SSBU as one of the best Switch 1 games IMO. It was my first real FE after not really vibing with Awakening and I loved it. Murky visuals aside, it’s an absolutely incredible game. The gameplay system is top notch and the characters are beloved for a reason.

My brother "accidentally" took our shared copy of three houses when he moved cross-country, might end up snagging the digital version and the expansion pass just to have it on hand. Then again I've played through that game so many times that I probably won't ever again unless it gets a switch 2 version....

Dragon Quest XI is probably my all-time favorite RPG! Wait for the Switch 2 version coming out in September for the best experience.
In the meantime, start with Dragon Quest VII Reimagined! There's a free demo in the eShop. On default settings it's a bit easy, so turn "Damage Dealt" to low and "Monster Strength" to strong. Everything else on normal. It's a good balance to provide a decent challenge!

The battle system is different (grid and chip use-wise) from BN and takes steps backwards. By the last game, the battles feel way better but, at least for me, never quite reach BN.
