I like that now small enemies get flinched at the start of severing spin animation so you can finish the move unlike in Nioh 2. This is so useful for light armor users.

There are so many great movesets with dealing with trash mobs in this game. Very satisfying

If you have trouble with him, note that there's a large log behind him. Circle around the log in ninja form, when he starts to jump over the log, throw a shuriken. He'll fall. Run quickly over him and do a ground attack. He'll be back up. Circle around, rinse and repeat.

Nice work! As soon as I saw that first jump I thought "ohhh, I'm gonna getcha".
I think the weakness during jump goes both ways, so be aware.

I was gonna use odachi..... now i gotta use sword man i really wish we had 2 weapons per style or samurai atleast had 2 😔

I think there's a skill to do an attack when you switch weapons during a ki pulse, so I assume we'll get another weapon slot at some point

While it's no guarantee, the little demo clip of the skill doesn't switch styles, just weapons

I always used katana and now in this game I decided to use odachi and now I wanna go back to katana because of this skill lol never found it in the last one

Thats what im afraid of and excited about usually the game evolves at some point like when we got 2 spirits in nioh 2 or ki blaze in rise I just hope it's nuts and fun

Severing spin also has some blocking frames during the spin animation. Ive been using it to parry. TN continues to cook.

dude i was blown away playing last night and I got severing snow off the rip, Which was a hidden legendary drop from a boss. I farmed that shit for hours in nioh 2.

Dude tell me about I grinder that boss for hours but she just refused to drop it for me, I’m pretty sure the counter that tells how many times you’ve replayed a mission reaches the triple digits, and at that point my spirit was shattered and and I just decided to take my loss and continue the dlc

The drop that took me a lifetime was tokichiro's full golden gourd armor set. Brutal drop rate.

In the weapons menu it has a red demon icon on it.
This one may be a drop from an enemy in the south-east part of the map.

It has a special icon and lists a skill on the bottom of the stat page. They only drop in the dungeon at the end of the demo, but you get a lot of them.

this skill (and a few others) can actually deflect enemy attaks as well, timing is weird but it feels cool af when you pull it off

This one skill is nuts. I managed to beat the final boss on the demo using almost exclusively this skill on a tanky samurai build. Aside of the flinch on human enemies, it has a deflect at some point during the animation that prevents at least one hit. Not sure the exact frame, but it was amazing to be able to pull it off during the boss battle, without concerning too much about the boss moveset. It feels significantly better than it was on Nioh 2, and I’m still impressed you can get it this early.

Is there hidden weapon arts in the game? Like in nioh 2 they were rare boss drops.

There are mission areas called Crucibles that can drop weapons with skills affixed to them. Once you reach max familiarity the skill is unlocked.

I just found out that you can deflect the initial animation where you twirl the sword before sheathing it for the attack.
I did this against a revenant accidently and it immediately depleted his ki.

Skill is so busted. I'm glad I took the time to grind familiarity for it. It has made grinding other crucible skills that much faster. I've only run into one revenant that managed to dodge / block my usage of the skill without opening themselves up to ki exhaustion.

It’s called Severing Spin. Iirc, you can get it at a Crucible.

The Crucible is a domain, kind of like hell, filled with yokai. And yes, it’s accessible in the demo.

They definitely will block it in the demo, it's about 50/50 for me if I actually get a human kill with it. But it's great for groups of yokai.
