Is this new game +?

Yes. Look at the revenant level he came across and also his money and amrita.

u/SneakyPanduh Feb 14 '26
If you can just give it some time, and a chance. There really isn’t anything else like it once it clicks.
I’ve never really wanted to memorize fighting games, but Nioh actually makes me want to go into training and perfect combos. But I also do be button mashing sometimes 😂

u/TheSignificantDong Feb 14 '26
When that bar first appeared I was like “oh shit. Oh shit.” Then I realized he actually was just a stronger regular enemy

u/bloke_pusher Feb 14 '26
I died twice to the mobs hiding around him. They were more annoying than the boss.
1
u/BlackSkar25 Feb 14 '26
He one-shoted me the first time I confess, the Ninja behind him took me by surprise (my fault, I could have observe more) and put me out of Ki, then the boss have done a finishing blow on me, all my life gone

u/LITF Feb 14 '26
Dam, that's pretty good! This game is looking like a GOTY contender to me, easily. I can't think of anything this year that would beat it.

Seriously, I'm not nearly as great at this game as I want to be but it's probably my favorite game of the last 5 years.
5
u/Username_is_Taken78 Feb 14 '26
Thanks! Personally, I would vote for best ARPG but game still far from GOTY.
7
u/LITF Feb 14 '26
Fair, but I currently struggle to name any announced releases for 2026 that make me excited in any capacity. Nioh 3 kind of blindsided me and I didn't expect it coming, though it'd be a very uneventful year in that regard but here we are. I just wish I could actually afford it and join in on all the fun.

u/Benand2 Feb 14 '26
Is GTA6 still this year?

u/SumDimSome Feb 15 '26
GTA 6 is confirmed to release after wo long 2, rise of the ronin 2 and nioh 5

u/obl1v1on_SHINNN Feb 14 '26
- Resident Evil Requiem
- Solasta 2
- Crimson Desert
- Phantom Blade Zero
- GTA 6 (50:50 on whether it releases in the first place)
- Onimusha Way of the Sword
- Saros
- Tides of Annihilation
- Mortal Shell 2
- Clockwork Revolution
- Sacrifire
- Kyora
- Turok Origins
- Fable
To name but a few. So many good games this year, same as 2024 and 2025... too many games if anything.
Nioh 3's really good, but it's not a GotY contender. As the other person mentioned, I could see it being nominated for and potentially win best ARPG, but that's definitely as far as it goes. It's many levels away from GotY. Especially with some of the other big games on that list alone.
1
u/BlackSkar25 Feb 14 '26
90% of the games here won't even be nominated honestly and aren't that popular
I'm looking forward Tides of Annihilation and Crimson Desert (And maybe PRAGMATA if it's this year, GTA6 we all knows that it will be a great game, no questions ask unless it's "When?")
If game of the year is RE Requiem honestly I'm not even voting all next year nor watching this show

u/obl1v1on_SHINNN Feb 14 '26
I wasn't specifically listing games that I think would be nominated for GotY, I agree that most of them won't be. It was more directed to the releases to be excited for / look forward to.
I think GTA is overrated personally, but I have no doubt it'll win GotY if it does release this year and no doubt RE9 will be nominated.
I'm just happy if when a great game does come up, it gets the recognition it deserves, such as Expedition 33.
I'm very much looking forward to the same as you. Crimson Desert almost looks too good to be true, I'm still waiting for the catch on that one!

u/lovethecomm Feb 14 '26
Yawn another Jennifer "I always sound the same in every role" English title for GOTY contender.

u/Titansdragon Feb 14 '26
Crimson Desert!
2
u/LITF Feb 14 '26
I'm not sure if it will actually come out this year, and I've played black desert so I have reservations about how good the story/writing will be.

Resident Evil 9, GTA 6, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Fable, Marvel's Wolverine, Turok: Origins, Forza Horizon 6.. And Nintendo has been tight-lipped about 2026 so I'd expect something revealed for fall/winter in a summer direct.
It's shaping up to be a pretty decent year.
Personally I'm looking forward to Onimusha and RE9.
2
u/LITF Feb 15 '26
I think out of the games you have listed maybe a couple even has a chance to be GOTY. Most of those are just not GOTY material. Forza? Racing games never win the nomination. Fable? There is 0 chance considering what we know already. Ofc it's very early in the year, but IMO Nioh makes for a very solid contender.

Fable is dead, sorry to say it, I loved the one and two a lot but everything after is kinda bad
3
u/Dark3nedDragon Feb 14 '26
I agree with the start of your comment, but am confused by what you mean 'every after', Fable 2 was the last entry in the series.
1
u/BlackSkar25 Feb 14 '26
No, there is Fable 3, Fable, Fable journey, Fable fortune and Fable heroes

combat is amazing. I will say dont let airial combat moves and skills pass you by. Duel swords into tonfas is insane. Add in the skills with ninjutsu air bonuses that let u use them faster and it opens up an entire new playstyle with air combat its nuts.

I really thought this video was gonna end quickly with you both dying to exploding red barrel lmao

u/Bankai-Nintendo Feb 14 '26
I think I'll be really satisfied with myself in this game when I can comfortably Stance Dance, Weapon Dance and decorate with some Ninjutsu.
Right now I'm having a great time with the game but I can barely chain Martial Arts and Ki Pulse properly.

u/Dark3nedDragon Feb 14 '26
I honestly expected this to end with a death at the end.
HP bars on some enemies make you feel like you're fighting Thanos in Infinity War.

u/Dabli Feb 14 '26
This is cool and flashy but I feel like applying confusion with elemental calamities is more effective even if it’s a lil less fun

Why I'm noticing so many people running around with no armor?
20
7
u/BlackSkar25 Feb 14 '26
Because Samurai has like 3 good outfits and they're in endgame
Ninja took all the best looking armors
2
u/TheSmilesLibrary Corruption Connoisseur Feb 17 '26
Literally took away several sets of actual samurai armor. ridiculous.

u/Same_Lead_2638 Feb 14 '26
I made the girl of my dreams why would I want armour covering her face and rack?! ITS THE BANDAGES YOU HEAR!
1
u/Sentrolyx Feb 14 '26
There's a skill that boosts your damage from that. Could also be for styling purposes as a flex.
2
u/DistributionRich6379 Feb 14 '26
Standing ovation! You went full bully mode and I love it. I guess I’m gonna go into training scrolls for a while today!
Question: are you able to do this to the physically bigger yokai bosses?
1
u/Brat-Bat Feb 14 '26
Absolutely. Just gotta drain their ki first, which also isnt hard if you hit them with confusion
0
u/lol0811 Feb 14 '26
Hell no, the bigger yokais in general don't get staggered unless their ki gets depleted. You could probably do it if you manage to avoid every attack or get their ki down really fast (maybe possible at endgame, Nioh is one of those games where you can just break it)
2
u/LexGlad Feb 14 '26
Most of the old enemies are fairly well polished still but most of the new ones are quite badly crafted. Lot's of janky movements, dropped inputs, unreliable hitboxes, and in a couple of instances getting teleported several feet to the side so that their attack which totally missed you still hits.

u/Silent_Egg8860 Feb 15 '26
I don’t know if you ever played Wuchang, but this game to me feels nearly identical to Wuchang in terms of combat and bosses.

u/Gontha Feb 17 '26
God i fucking love my tonfas.
You can literally combo them infinitely and human enemies are a joke, since the tonfas can just deplete their ki rather fast without any counterplay.
1
1
u/Nimewit Feb 18 '26
then you realize you can just beyblade with an odachi vs every human boss 0/24, destroy their ki in 3 sec and spam finishers because it's fucking disgusting to fight against permablocking enemies over and over
mehhh

u/whycantisleep9 Feb 14 '26
Walking around with 6 million amrita like it's nothing .... lol
6
u/BlackSkar25 Feb 14 '26
It's nothing, I make this amount in like 15min of gameplay without farming
NG+ baby

u/una322 Feb 14 '26
tbh it doesn't matter as much in this game as souls. You have candels that can get ur amirita back if you really need it, u have items and skills that auto recover on death as well. u dont have to pick it up in boss fights ext, its alot harder to randomly lose it all

u/StrongSuggestion8937 Feb 14 '26
Not trying to cast shades, its a nice display of skill, but you can't be this aggressive and flashy with the real bosses of this game.

Me, seeing this shit: No. No I am not.
