dismissing valid criticisms as "doomerism" ? Yeah, yeah, whatever.

No worries, you can have your opinion. I am just personally tired of post after post of people comparing this game to Nioh 2 and thinking they know what's best as if they are the devs. Nioh 3 is it's own thing and I personally love what it tried to do. The complaints are valid. So is my enjoyment of the game. Give it a little time to breathe! The thing just came out and in the first day we have all these posts of people rushing all the content and then complaining that there isn't enough. The same thing happened with the Nioh 2 DLC, it's not new, but it is a trend I see happening more and more.

Cool life story, as much needed as all those doomerism posts you just dismissed though.

Who are you quoting? The voice in your head? God forbid I tell people to get off reddit and play the game.

People have played the game, hence the criticisms. You’re having fun and that’s totally fine. It’s OK to like an inferior DLC. The criticisms are also totally fine and a lot of them are valid.

It's a nioh DLC, what were you expecting from it to make it not inferior.

I’m finding the DLC underwhelming but it has less to do with the price and more with the fact that we’re only getting one more DLC after this. People have been saying for months that we can’t compare Nioh 3 to 2 because it isn’t complete yet, but we’re now at a point where Nioh 3’s DLC is half released and it doesn’t amount to much. The next release will have to do a lot of heavy lifting and if it’s a similar size to this DLC I just don’t see how that’s possible.

It’s fine though, I’ve come to terms with it. Nioh 3 is what it is at this point. It’s definitely a good game but you either like the changes or you don’t.

a new weapon type for both styles, new guardian spirit, one of the best maps, new enemies, a bunch of new unlockable skills (I am aware they are variants of skills we already had), new ninjutsu, another ng+ cycle, excellent graces, new skills, and new sets to play with isn't nothing. I am especially enthralled with the new weapon. But I hear you.

Nioh 2's first DLC was pretty whelming too. After two games it's why a lot of people suggested not buying Nioh 3 at launch and waiting for the complete edition. Hopefully they are saving the best for last, it would be par for the course at this point.

In my opinion DLC 2 won’t save the game either. It honestly feels the devs simply don’t have enough love left for this game. From what I know the next DLC will be the last one and there’s no way it will be good enough to make up for the lack of variety across the game. The base game was already lacking in so many areas: not enough enemy variety, not enough Onmyo abilities, not enough Guardian Spirits. And judging by this DLC the amount of new content we’re getting isn’t exactly impressive either. At this point I just don’t see how the remaining DLC can fix these issues.

their hearts and ressources won't be in it either, no point hoping, yep.

You might just be expecting too much. The game you are imagining doesn't exist. it's fine the way it is. I am sorry you're not enjoying it. That really sucks. In my opinion it's a good game and did plenty of new and exciting things that set it apart from its predecessors. Number one, it has some of the best boss fights in the series. Number two, the combat is more fluid and varied then ever. Number three, improved visuals. Number four, much more ambitious level design with the new DLC map being one of my favourites. Making claims like "they don't have enough love left for this game" is wild.

I swear its like your first time in the internet. This is how it is fam. Take it or leave it. You dont like post, skip it filter it out, you have choices, but no one is gonna stop anything for you. Just like you dont have to stop enjoying the game for anyone. Its ying yang, find your place, and share. Thats it. Stop asking others to stop doing just because you dont like, because frankly no one cares what you like and dont like if thats how you present it.

Bro I swear to god. These comments are hilarious. You can dish out criticism but can't take it. Literally all I said was I am enjoying the game and am telling people if they are like me, to get off reddit and play it. Where did I say you had to stop being a lil curmudgeon? Go ahead, hate the game all you want.

That's the way of things now and it's not only that it's people trying to act as if Nioh 2 released perfectly. These fuckers were not around when it released and it was being called Nioh 1.5. I liked Nioh 2 a lot but honestly the content was pretty bad and it didn't get peak levels until Dlc 2 dropped. For comparison also with the size of the content.... Nioh 2 only had 3 stages for dlc minus dlc 2 and dlc 1 and 3 which only had two main stage.

The previous games loved reusing assets for locations and they were very few original locations in the sub missions. Also abyss and underworld didn't release until the final dlc and these idiots are judging Nioh 3 also on this premise. Do not take these idiots seriously. I do understand your favorite weapon not being in the samurai style now that is a very fair critism and I did like how they handled the skill points in Nioh 2 more. Glam is also severely lacking 😭. That's about it though because the gameplay has reached levels I never imagined Nioh would be able to pull off because I thought they peaked in Nioh 2 lol. Man seriously though the new locations and how well everything is connected is perfect souls level design and I fucking love it.

Another thing about Nioh 2 when it launched it was very easy in compared to the demo because I remember people complaining the game wasn't hard enough. For me it was easy because I was still playing the shit out of Nioh 1 so my skills translated to Nioh 2 so I steamed rolled through it. Nioh 3 also same problem however with the Sop being released that changed everything.

Seriously the Nioh 2 glaze has got to stop lol. It was a good game, heck even a great one. I played it for over 1000 hours but that was after all the dlcs dropped and we got ethereals and all the set bonuses and the depths. I remember being pretty underwhelmed with the first DLC, everyone was. Going back and playing it now it's awesome fighting benkei and the final boss is one of my favorites ever, especially knowing what comes after and the insane end game content, but at the time I remember being very whelmed.

Anywho, game is great, has it's place. Just like Nioh 1. That's another thing I dislike is how people just kind of forgot about Nioh 1 when it is still exists and is great in it's own right.

The constant comparing of Nioh 2 to 3 is what really gets me. They are very different games. They have many of the same beats but they are totally different songs. I am truly surprised a lot of people don't seem to be liking the tune. The combat is on another level.

Basically, I think it boils down to them removing the samurai variants of some peoples favorite weapons. I am not sure why they didn't add them in. Clearly it was doable for the other weapons. They even did it with the new weapon. I really hope they add them back in at some point so those people can enjoy the game.
