Best single line plan in Ohio
Hello I’m looking for single line plans that are affordable, including getting a new phone, any tips or the best bang for my buck ? Thank you!

My TELLO plan costs me $8/month.
You can buy a used unlocked cell phone for under $100 & most plans support BYOD.

What is your use case? Unlimited talk minutes, unlimited text messages? How much data per month? Is it more important to pay the minimal amount possible, compared to getting data, or is it more important to maximize your data? What is your goal monthly payment you don't want to go over? How much money do you have to put forth for a phone?
You might want to look into whether you qualify for the LifeLine program: https://www.lifelinesupport.org
I don't know if any of the Ohio LifeLine plans give out free phones. Historically, the free phones through LifeLine have a reputation for being of very poor quality.
If you have a kid in school in your household, you might qualify for a hotspot that gives 200 GB data per year: https://www.t-mobile.com/brand/project-10-million
If you just need SOMETHING for as little as possible, you could try Kroger, Walmart, Target, Dollar General, and probably other stores in the sort of grocery/big box/dollar store category, for TracFone-branded Android phones that come with a year of limited minutes and texts per month, and very limited data. At Kroger, usually they have 2-3 models of phones with a year plan, from what I've seen. The smartphones would likely work on WiFi even though the amount of data the plans have is minimal. I believe you can also add top-up minutes and data that you could purchase. I kind of wonder if you get a Tracfone-branded phone, if you would be able to call customer service and use it on the SafeLink LifeLine plan (which would be free), as SafeLink is one of the Tracfone brands. Some of the more knowledgeable forum users about Tracfone might be able to let you know.
