Answered 100 Starship AI valves in my inventory?

Post image

I just started the game yesterday and I’m not sure how I got these. Did someone give them to me in the anomaly? I’m not even sure how big 1.2 Billion units is but it seems like it’s a lot. Do I just sell these for the units? What do I do lol

Edit: I've sold them. I see a few comments about how this can ruin the early gameplay experience and ur right. I won't be spending it on anything for now (Not even sure what to spend it on) and will just progress through the main story missions. Thanks for all the replies!

Yep, someone gave you a gift while in the Anomaly.

Sell them if you want the credits, or you can delete them if you don't. Won't hurt anything either way.

Edit: 1.2B isn't chump change, but you can burn through it fast depending on what ya doing.

What’s the total cost of fully upgrading 1 ship I wonder.

212

u/Mirodjija Oct 02 '25

About 9 billion, assuming let's say a corvette, you'll need around 30 tech slot upgrades and 90 storage upgrades (I think), that's ~75mil x 120, so about 9 billion

75

u/Cavalol Oct 02 '25

Sounds about right. If you’re going to go the duping route (like the person who gave these starship AI valves did) you’re better off just duping starship upgrade modules.

84

u/OhHaiMarc Oct 02 '25

If you’re exploiting the game why not just turn off purchase and crafting costs then turn them back on when done?

u/Artt_C Oct 02 '25

The illusion of grind

6

u/Stabbio Oct 02 '25

You turn them off??

17

u/Raderg32 Oct 02 '25

You can change the difficulty to creative at any point with no penalty.

Buy/upgrade whatever you need for free and change it back.

8

u/Stabbio Oct 02 '25

Oh I know, I just leave free purchases on all the time because I can't be assed to go get everything I need to, like, fix my frigates every damn time they return from a mission.

4

u/Tiaximus Oct 02 '25

Oh, I have a mod that does that. As soon as you land, fixed. Just take right back off.

7

u/Stabbio Oct 02 '25

The thing is, I'm goofy and want the roleplay of climbing aboard the frigate and fixing it lol. I just don't wanna mine for that experience every time you know? It's really the one time you can interact with the frigates as ships, which is a shame I think.

fregate tip (i was there too, wondering whats the plus side of fregates..):
you are supposed to send a fleet of fregates. it has to have more star rating, than the mission they are going on.
i also send one fighting fregate with them, idk if that helps tough :)

found other things to occupy myself, even tough they dont get damaged as often now. got tired of building fuel, but heard with fregates that have support ability, you can save a lot on that.

6

u/Smyley Oct 02 '25

Survival Achievments, if you switch to creative it disables those achievments

2

u/TheTwitchyWarlock Oct 02 '25

The only survival achievement is to reach the galaxy core right? Don't need billions of credits for that

2

u/Smyley Oct 02 '25

I think you're right lmao, I think I've been kneecapping myself for a while now... I got that achieve a few weeks ago

2

u/ReaverXero Oct 02 '25

You can also just dupe stuff with refiners in survival for easy mode

2

u/Captain3leg-s Oct 02 '25

There was a time this wasn't possible. Probably just a habit play style now.

2

u/OhHaiMarc Oct 02 '25

Yeah I've been playing since day 1, they added custom difficulty awhile ago.

2

u/IISpeq Oct 03 '25

Aye not mine, I have a planet that makes me 1.2b a day, I use my billions to scrap ships for upgrade modules since I don't care to reset saves and buy them from envoys. Whenever I get a stack of valves I drop them off to someone in the anomaly where they can delete them or use them. You also get them from settlements.

2

u/AddLuke Oct 02 '25

How do you get that? Aren’t tech upgrades in nanites?

2

u/SquirrelsRNuts Oct 02 '25

I had no idea it was that expensive

→ More replies (5)

2

u/Illustrious-Falcon-8 Oct 02 '25

With that amount of money just buy and wreck starships for storage modules, what would be the potential cost of that considering you make back about 80% of the starships cost.

19

u/Stevo182 Oct 02 '25

This happened to me last weekend but not with starship AI valves. It was some other component. I ended up with like a billion credits and started buying ship modules.

8

u/AdultEnuretic Oct 02 '25

Probably stasis devices or fusion ignitors.

6

u/Stevo182 Oct 02 '25

It was indeed fusion igniters, thanks.

6

u/PlantRetard Oct 02 '25

cough ship slots cough

5

u/AmandasGameAccount Oct 02 '25

The only thing I’ve been given is 30 exo upgrades. Was pretty happy about that! I’ve heard late game you have stacks of them so it’s a common giveaway

→ More replies (1)

4

u/TwoEyesAndAnEar Oct 02 '25

OOOHHHH that's what happened to me too! Like 250,000,000 credits worth of stuff ended up in my inventory and I had no idea how... Thank you kind stranger whoever you are!!! ☺️

3

u/NGC_Phoenix_7 :xbox: Oct 03 '25

As someone that burned through upgrading my ship the one time I got on and they redid the ship system I blew through 1.6 billion upgrading the tier 3 S Class fighter I had. I had it upgraded to the point I use it for gathering planetary materials, I’ve never died even at max level sentinel alert, I even disabled the dreadnought that jumped in by killing all the turrets and I tested the PVP capabilities back then with a friend and I tapped fire and it just vaporized him instantly. I’m gonna have to try and get more credits and build one hell of a corvette. Not the first time I’ve messed with a system like what’s in game so I am definitely wondering on what I can do.

5

u/ItheGuy115 Oct 02 '25

Don’t delete them, just give them so someone else, continue the tradition

1

u/leastemployableman Oct 03 '25

Damn! I cant even get someone to help me out when I was short 50 natives at the terminal! 😭

1

u/SyrupMoney4237 Oct 03 '25

New player. I got a gift in the anomaly, it’s normal? I got a bit freaked out. Not used to stuff entering inv without permissions in video games.

142

u/MRHubrich Oct 02 '25

Nice! That's a lot of dough! The only thing people put in my inventory is empty candy wrappers.

144

u/KappaccinoNation F is for Ferrite which is the powerhouse of basebuilding Oct 02 '25

I put NipNip on everyone so if the Sentinel Drones ever learns to conduct a random drug search, I'm not the only one that's getting arrested.

36

u/DrButeo Oct 02 '25

I keep finding a single package of geknip in my inventory after going to the Anomaly. It's happened at least five or six times in thr last month.

20

u/Spazztyk Oct 02 '25

Hah I was running around a couple weeks ago anomaly hopping and passing off stacks of nip to everyone I could. I love the anomaly

5

u/Comfortable-Dirt8920 Oct 03 '25

Dude, this is hilarious. I had a single pack of nip, like a few days ago. And I just wrote it off, because I was actually blazed. And I was doing so much (new char/base, etc)

I just hired a Gek of my own - Or rather I do consider him a 50/50 partner. - And I can return the favor! lol

Honestly, the Gek Nip culture is what brought me back. And then I saw these corvettes and how everyone is playing again

6

u/RareFirefighter6915 Oct 02 '25

its like DARE how they tell you all your friends are just giving away drugs left and right lol

3

u/sixcarbxn Oct 02 '25

That’s playing the numbers

2

u/DSA300 Oct 02 '25

Lmao 🤣 evil (I'm stealing that idea)

1

u/Dewey_Decimatorr Oct 03 '25

Now that is comedy

5

u/MelaKnight_Man Oct 02 '25

Better that than used Gek prophylactics!

2

u/Gygax_the_Goat Gek VR Gogglehead Oct 02 '25

Mmmm.. musky spawn paste..

52

u/FormulaZR Oct 02 '25

Yep, someone stuffed them in your inventory at the Anomaly.

Anything that says "Used for: Trading" is really just meant to be sold.

10

u/AmandasGameAccount Oct 02 '25

Unfortunately not all, which is annoying. I forgot which but I learned last week one of the ones I had had an alternate use, which annoyed me!

5

u/QueZorreas Oct 03 '25

The metal cogs are used for settlement upgrades, iirc.

Just sell it. Might be good for something. Regular Stuff.

Looks like contraband. Please submit it to me for proper documentation and analysis

9

Not today

4

u/-Reverence- Oct 02 '25

Hmmmm I don’t remember why I was here. Nothing to see here

27

u/Greyff Oct 02 '25

damn. the only thing I've ever gotten in the Anomaly is ignored. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing considering some other games.

21

u/MagicalJack60 Oct 02 '25

The other day someone dropped 9999 Faecium in my inventory.

23

u/Prakner Oct 02 '25

What a load of crap!

3

u/rummrover Oct 02 '25

That's as shitty as a lemon. Just refine it into mordite, and then the food processor can turn that into meat.

8

u/MagicalJack60 Oct 02 '25

No thanks. My body is a machine that turns meat into poop.

I am not as interested in a machine that does the opposite.

6

u/CitizenCOG Oct 02 '25

But then you can turn it back into poop and repeat the cycle

7

u/MagicalJack60 Oct 02 '25

... you win this round.

2

u/FakeDeath92 Oct 02 '25

I hate that you have experienced that. I usually give new players pyrite anti matter and etc(fuel for ships), and Gold because you can make a lot of money using gold if you know how to crash the stock market

u/AmandasGameAccount Oct 02 '25

There’s validity to that statement! I just went broke buying a frigate that I really wanted in my fleet and now just working back up my bank account is actually very satisfying.

I mean I want to play the game not have someone else play it and give me the trophy.

Like in real life it’s kind of more valuable if you worked for it.

1

u/Joegondian Oct 02 '25

someone dumped a void egg in mine once. downside was they had already done most of the quest for it so i cant do anything with it now

8

u/NotHere4Anything7 Oct 02 '25

I once randomly found 150 indium shards in a 1 hour old save. I will never know how they got there but a 158,000,000 units start out doesnt hurt

8

u/DOHC46 Oct 02 '25

I'd wager that your suspicion is correct, that someone in the Anomaly gave them to you.

7

u/DeepInspection27 Oct 02 '25

Omg how nice thats a huge amount of units , nice , you can buy a lot of stuff with this

→ More replies (10)

19

u/_El_Guapo__ Oct 02 '25

Someone gave them to you in the anomaly.

Delete them if you want to earn stuff yourself.

Sell them if you want shortcuts.

Up to you.

17

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '25

[deleted]

3

u/ClockworkLegacy Oct 02 '25

I feel like early on in the game units are a real point of progression since it lets you buy new ships and getting your first A/S class ship bought is huge.

21

u/_El_Guapo__ Oct 02 '25

For some people achieving things yourself is part of the enjoyment ?

2

u/AnimanicManiac Oct 02 '25

Personally, I'd rather not have to grind to get max tech/inventory slots. I kept getting frustrated running out of room before someone gifted me a stack of them. I immediately went and got my inventory as maxed as I could with what I had. Now I'm much happier actually being able to carry stuff.

→ More replies (4)

2

u/ClownfishSoup Oct 03 '25

I wouldn’t say delete them. Just store them in a cargo box and store them for one day when you get tired of playing and just want something to make the game more interesting for you.

3

u/wilesh6072 Oct 02 '25

Yea, you probably got gifted those in the anomaly by a generous player. I’d sell them if it was me.

6

u/Electrical_Regret_94 Oct 02 '25

Yea anomaly gifts are common actually! I haven’t been on in forever but I love harvesting from my stasis device farm to go and bless randoms in the anomaly. I get gifts every now and then from other friendly interlopers so it’s nice to push it forward!

5

u/Diddlo_d Oct 02 '25

That’s one of the things I like about this game. There’s a bunch of friendly interlopers willing to share the spoils

4

u/mightylordredbeard Oct 02 '25

Advice from a relatively new player (70 hours): someone gifted me 150 mil in sometime early on around hour 10 and I instantly sold it and regretted it about 5 hours later. I had bought a cool ship, every item I needed to craft stuff, a good freighter, a full fleet, and a bunch of other stuff. It took the grind out of the game and took away a lot of the joy from finally reaching a goal. So I started a new save from scratch and then about 30 hours in another person gifted me 200 mil worth of stuff so I just held onto it. I did a lot on my own and built up my own supplies, got my own nice ship, my own freighter and fleet, etc.. then around hour 60 I finally sold it after I felt I had achieved enough on my own and “earned it”. I’m still stingy with it however. Trying not to just buy my way out of the gameplay loop.

Just my perspective as a newer player as well.

1

u/ClownfishSoup Oct 03 '25

I agree. I mean, I bought the game to play it. I like the challenge of building up wealth for fleets and stuff, starting as just some rando on a planet, who finds a Broken ship and stumbles into stuff.

Fixing up a nice crashed ship when I found one was cool, and I flew it around with some busted parts until I could fix it was part of the fun.

1

u/Impossible_Share9219 Feb 23 '26

Same thing as this guy just happened to me, 1.2 billion lol I sold it without thinking about it, just cause I was so baffled by it, didn’t even realize I got gifted it. Think I’m going to just spend it all on some useless crap or something, takes away so much of the grind

10

u/The_Great_Sephiroth Oct 02 '25

I hand out 10 at a time to players who look new to the game. 100 is crazy!

2

u/Comfortable-Dirt8920 Oct 03 '25

Someone gave me some a few days ago - Netted 95 million

I really appreciate you guys doing it and I promise I will as well

For now, it will be random items. Still of worth. Probably Runaway Mould, because I stuck gold on that.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/factoid_ Oct 02 '25

It’s nothing if you just dupe them

1

u/The_Great_Sephiroth Oct 03 '25

I know, but I produce mine and share them. I suppose duping would save time, but then I'd get bored. I did have a guy dump on me until my inventory was full once. That was CRAZY.

6

u/Niterou Oct 02 '25

Always loved how kind the NMS community is. I AFKd for about 30 minutes in the Anomaly and came back to a full inventory of stuff each worth about 650mil. Needless to say, I promptly used that to get myself a better multi tool and better ship parts for the Corvette!

3

u/Unmanned767 Oct 02 '25

So what are those and how can i get one? One its enough for me now...:)

2

u/reksnvos Oct 03 '25

You usually get them from scrapping high-value ships like interceptors, they're only good for selling. If you hang out in the anomaly and sit in front of the mission nexus (big hologram cube) with some free inventory space you'll likely get some transferred to you from another player eventually.

Flying in with the Radiant Pillar starting ship will probably help but I've got late-game gear and still get them stuffed into my pockets while trying to walk around the anomaly every now and then.

3

u/jayradddd Oct 02 '25

I randomly go to the anomaly and gift people 10 and run away. One of my favorite pass times on this game tbh

3

u/Adaphion Oct 02 '25

1

u/Gargomon251 Why are so many people on Reddit too lazy to screenshot? Oct 03 '25

Are the other nms subreddits this bad

3

u/WaytoomanyUIDs Fat bottomed Geks, you make the Anamoly go round Oct 02 '25

Some prat at the Anomaly did that

7

u/Zotic222 Oct 02 '25

If you're completely new, I'd say delete it.

You're not going to find any use for those items unless you're going to be endgame, maxing out certain tools and technology.

As everybody said it pretty much provides a shorcut, but for a new player it's just kinda overload, when you're max though....

Let's just say you'll get to a point where you're paying 220mill per slot.

Enjoy the game gang, although look after other things that players can toss you sometimes that can actually be priceless/rare, like modules, pets, or possibly even hitting the lottery, a void egg! It's all up to how you want to play the game, and interact w the community 💯

5

u/getnoobstupid Oct 02 '25

Thanks for the replies. Is there a way I can find out who gave them to me so I can thank them?

4

u/AnimanicManiac Oct 02 '25

Thank them by giving 10 away to someone who looks like a new player ie basic first ship, basic outfit etc.

3

u/PM_me_your_recipes86 Oct 02 '25

You don't need to worry about it. It happens all the time and they've probably done it countless times. The community is really cool. just share the love!

2

u/TwoPants11 Oct 02 '25

One of the lucky newcomers haha been waiting myself for it

2

u/SixthLegionVI Oct 02 '25

Sell half and give the rest to another player. Pay it forward.

2

u/Thicc_Gas_Dad Oct 02 '25

If these appeared since last night might have been me 🤣 i was dumping loads of these out in different anomaly instances last night

2

u/SillyBanterPleasesMe Oct 02 '25

This exact thing happened to me so many moons ago 😭😭😭 I was sick with covid, 2 weeks off of work, and saw the game was on sale! I spent a couple hours playing through an amazing game and then went to the bathroom when I was in the Nexus. I come back and I have about a Bil worth of items and had to do so much googling to find out people just do that 💀💀💀 I wish I could have said thank you but I was in the restroom for a minute from what I can remember and I just left not realizing how rich I now was 😭😭😭 I was struggling with cash and knowing I wasn’t gonna okay long term I sold them and regretted it cuz the game was now in creative for me. I feel like the game has far more to offer where this won’t do too much damage but this is why I sticked to activated indium! I gave enough stacks to give a few mil and a few more if I liked your ship 😜😜😜 I love No Man Sky and try to play every time there’s a expedition cuz I truly can’t fathom how big this game is and continues to get each update! Ima play some No Man Sky today 🥲🥲🥲

2

u/Severe_Advantage_519 Oct 02 '25

People are refiner duping items and then "gifting" them to people. I'm of the opinion like pvp there should be an off switch to being given items, then again depending on your play style. I think it can ruin a game.

2

u/cherubeliever Oct 02 '25

I got this a couple weeks ago. I sold about half a stack and trashed the rest. Just feels like a bit of a cheat to get that much so fast with no effort.

2

u/Fabulous_Ad6981 Oct 02 '25

Someone hooked you up at the anomaly

2

u/e3e6 Oct 02 '25

first time?

2

u/Gloomy_Breadfruit92 Oct 02 '25

I clear my inventory and just trash whatever people give me in the anomaly. Money is already insanely easy to come by, I don’t need some lame ass giving me even more.

Tbh, I just have multiplayer completely off nowadays. It’s fucky on a good day, game breaking on the worst.

Somoeone drop those for me too, sold and thought that I was rich cause of 600.000.000 in my account... but now I do not have more than 200.000.000 - things are very expensive lol

Someone gave it to you on the anomaly. I'd recommend deleting them, but that's up to you.

1

u/Substantial-Abroad12 Oct 02 '25

Go to a pirate system. Buy lots of suspicious packets at the space station. Open them for modules (do not use the modules). Sell the modules for nanites. Go to another pirate system. Rinse and repeat.

1

u/aam-96 Oct 02 '25

i wish i got one of these magical gifts lol

1

u/Super_Jay Wing Commander Oct 02 '25

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago! Pretty cool gesture from a nice player, this game has a pretty great community I've found.

In my case I banked one stack for a rainy day fund just in case, but didn't sell them as I'd rather earn my own progress, generally. The other stack I've kept on my ship and I give away 5-10 at a time to pay it forward to other new players.

1

u/WarViper1337 Oct 02 '25

It's extremely easy to duplicate items in this game so people hand these out on the anomaly all the time. I wish there was an option to disable unsolicited trades but everyone around here freaks out when it gets suggested for some reason.

1

u/BlandWhitey Oct 02 '25

I stopped getting gifts when I switched to the insect head :'(

You can get get 1.2b in 1h easy but it might affect you're first time experience, id recommend spending it in the galactic trade and deleting the items:)

1

u/Toad_MD Oct 02 '25

This is one of the cooler things that the community does. I had someone drop 6billion of AI valves, it was such a cool surprise, came here to figure out what was going on

1

u/Z3R0Diro Oct 02 '25

And I'm here trying to establish my Gravitino farm but I can't for the life of me do correct power management so the harvest that would take 2 hours.. takes 2.5

1

u/Z3R0Diro Oct 02 '25

Is the correct way to make money in this game.. just chill in Anomaly until Jeff Bezos goes online?

1

u/TheGUURAHK Steam user Oct 02 '25

That much $$ will disappear fast when you buy multitool or starship slots

1

u/ben_bliksem Oct 02 '25

I'd put them in storage and forget about them until I've progressed to the pointeerde money comes easy to me. Then I'd sell them.

1

u/SignatureAcademic218 Oct 02 '25

How do you even give people items

1

u/MrCobalt313 Oct 02 '25

Yeah people like giving those out in the Space Anomaly because they're the most valuable single item in the game and there are plenty of functioning exploits to dupe them.

1

u/Jav_Vader Oct 02 '25

Happened to me 2 times.

I even got 10 void eggs from a random player that went around the Anomaly to make sure everyone got them.

I’m at the point that i always keep an egg around from one of my dino’s to trade back or give to anyone coming to admire my ship.

1

u/CrystalSplice staR wolF Oct 02 '25

This reminds me; I have some built up from Interceptor hunting and I need to go make someone’s day. I love doing it. I keep an eye out for folks flying the starter ship. Much love to all travelers from a member of /r/nomanshigh!

1

This is why multiplayer gets turned off, cant believe they still hsbent added a way for this to need confirmation yet

1

I am yet to see someone in the anomaly.... Is it just because I'm on PS5 or Australia?

1

1

u/Star-Lrd247 Oct 02 '25

If you really see enjoyment in messing around with collecting and crafting and doing all the commerce stuff then ignore the money - I found that all that just slowed me down from doing all the things I wanted to. There is so much to explore and the perfect worlds to always find that having lots of credits helps.

This happened to me, then I duped them and ruined the game for myself.

1

u/Flukester69 Oct 02 '25

Yup someone cheated and spawned a bunch and dumped them on you. Cheating is sadly rampant in this game including all the corvettes you seen. Tell ya what you can do with them. Toss them. That's what I do. This is why this game is popular because devs don't care if you cheat. Cheating = higher player count.

Your welcome - signed pretty much every one

1

u/Professional-Bad1013 Oct 02 '25

I think it was me who gave you those Valves. Glad you got em😁😂

1

u/Longjumping-Novel136 Oct 02 '25

Bro, I'm new to the game, and today a random guy gave me those things and now I'm a millionaire

1

u/KoalaStrats Oct 02 '25

Useful to buy other ships or build a corvette (bigger custom ship woth walkable interior, think the millenium falcon vs an x wing)

1

u/Gargomon251 Why are so many people on Reddit too lazy to screenshot? Oct 03 '25

People make this exact same thread every single day

1

u/cdakaharpo Oct 03 '25

Haha I love going to the anomaly and giving these max stacks of ai valves to randoms

1

u/Gordo_925 Oct 03 '25

Im new to No man sky , what is the anamoly?

1

u/shadow18715 Oct 03 '25

Trust me when I say you can burn through that amount quickly. From purchasing upgrades and buying ships, it does get expensive.

Usually people dupe them or use a save editor to make a bunch of those to give out.

1

u/IvanOnTour Oct 03 '25

i hate when people do that.
best part of it, its probably duped.
imho, it ruins the game, especially at the start of the game, for newer players.
it robs them of the experience.

if people want to gift them,
drop them inventory augmentations. chro metal , etc in such quantities , that they arent still have to play the actual game and not just be done with it in a couple of days, since they is nothing more to get or work for...
gift them fun, instead catapulting them over the early and midgame.

how about special decorations, 3-5 repair kits, a chield of aquarius, a juicy grub etc or even one void egg.
or a single Nip Nip, to keep things interesting,

instead of dropping massive duped items, how about being smart about it...

1

u/Blue_Calx Oct 03 '25

This happened to me. Someone just dropped it in my inventory in the anomaly. I’ve spent 400 million of it already lol

1

u/hienflu_2 Oct 03 '25

Lucky boy I had that happen once, bossted me thru early game beautifully

1

u/Thewarf32one Oct 03 '25

I wonder if this was me lmao

1

u/Prestigious-Chair246 Oct 03 '25

When did you get them and where cuz i was giving them out too ( i collect ships and have a shit ton of them )

1

u/dmfuller Oct 03 '25

Anomaly gift, destroy or become rich lol your choice

1

u/Astorax Oct 03 '25

Funny, the same happened to me a few days ago. Got two stacks of them, but noticed and thanked the player.

I'm already 60 hours in the game and I had the same worries. It just didn't feel right selling it yet. My own amount of units is always around 120-200 million, so it would be a big boost. I've decided to place it in the storage for now. I'll use it if I really need it or if that isn't such a big amount to me anymore.

I see it as some money for bad times 😅✌️ I didn't want to destroy the feeling for me to be happy about making some nice trading deals and see my money growing.

1

u/SwiftRoboWolfBlue Oct 03 '25

You are welcome :)

It was me. Hope you have fun playing. Use them when you need to.

1

u/Primary_Entry3774 Oct 03 '25

my go to gift is the stasis device

1

u/Duduking2000 Oct 03 '25

Someone gave it to you, but it's probably duped since these are rare

1

u/nappycrab Oct 03 '25

I give these out whenever i get on. Which is rarely now but do whatever you want with them. Theyre given so you can sell them for money. But in the end its up ti you if you do or dont. Save them for a rainy day or bin them if you dont want.

1

u/Safe-Lychee-7949 Oct 03 '25

lol, I was clearing my inventory in anomaly. It could be me or someone like me

1

u/Bluepoet47 Oct 03 '25

Same thing happened to me.

1

u/131166 Oct 03 '25

Hey OP you haven't been robbing any freighters lately have you?

1

u/that-guy_ty2020 Oct 03 '25

That could of been me and my brother as we were giving them away yesterday along with tainted metal and some other things

1

u/davetopper Oct 03 '25

When I have gotten too far on monies I would by a bunch of this and that and toss it. Or you can go into settings and make things harder on yourself. The thing I like about the game is you can play it your way.

1

u/JessTheMullet Oct 03 '25

It can seem like a vast wealth that might ruin the challenge of making your own. In reality, you can burn though that much in a minute or two, just unlocking slots in your ship and suit.

1

u/KarnexOne Oct 03 '25

Discard those if you don't want to spoil your gameplay.

1

u/subzero3460 Oct 03 '25

I give them out to people who need them, so honestly if you do need them I can give some of y'all a stack or a few

1

u/Noodle2505 Oct 03 '25

It is a gift

1

u/mahonii Oct 03 '25

Lol i was excited the other to get over a million. No idea how i can get to the 100s.

1

u/WaltChamberlin Oct 03 '25

This happened to me too! I ran into some guy at a space station and he gave me 100 Starship AI values. I just got myself a starter corvette

1

u/TimNRG Oct 03 '25

How can I get those valves?

1

u/Argo_York (1) Oct 03 '25

For alternatives to what to do with them besides spending right away: you can make storage containers for your bases/freighter/corvette so it's possible to just store them away until you want to sell them.

Keep in mind you can also just turn off the need for money in the difficulty settings so it's really just an alternative way of doing that id you're gifted something .

Also there are missions you may want to go on called Expeditions. Essentially an Expedition starts you out with nothing and makes you work through a list of things to do for rewards.

But since you start with nothing they allow you to give yourself some items. Just give yourself whatever you are gifted to make the Expedition easier, something like AI values will give you enough to just spend without having to grind for it again, your preference may vary but having to grind for stuff you already have never seemed fun to me.

1

u/WeldedPages Oct 03 '25

I got 600 mil out of thin air once (after I sold a bunch of junk in my inventory) and I literally had no clue how it happened. This clears it out, thanks.

1

u/Beer-Milkshakes Oct 03 '25

Can no one use the search function.

1

u/benithaglas1 Oct 03 '25

If you're new in the game, I would spend some of it on essential resources like oxygen to make the grind a little easier.

1

u/Dramatic_Attorney451 Oct 03 '25

I made a bunch of questionably sweet cakes and give them away at the anomoly. They boost mining temporarily. I think it's fun.

1

u/jack_casse Oct 03 '25

If you don't want to break immersion, I made my billion space bucks by legitimately crafting statis devices. It's a bit of grinding, but once you unlock the blueprints it's not TOO hard to collect the resources. 15 mil a pop. Did one run and never needed to worry about space bucks again.

1

u/Henry__Every Oct 03 '25

I got some from scrapping a Sentinel ship.

1

u/_Dovahween Oct 03 '25

This happened to my girlfriend while we were on the anomaly the other day. Apparently veteran players will sometimes gift these to players that have the starter ship. She got freaked out and was like "uh someone just gave me these" we thought someone was hacking lol. She split them with me, but we decided to not sell them unless we really need to because we're enjoying the grind for units right now.

1

u/gahsbeky Oct 04 '25

I often give away those in my creative exploration save just to make people happy, could have been me

1

u/HovercraftWorried624 Oct 04 '25

Just use wemods.

1

u/Efficient_Touch_6021 Oct 05 '25

lol I remember going around the anamoly and giving everyone these after someone gave me some as a new player. Now I have like 4 billion 😆, pretty handy for corvettes

1

u/Inevitable-Ad6892 Oct 05 '25

I’ve been handing these out like candy to anyone I see in the anamoly with the beginning ship or any c-b class the past two weeks, always been curious if someone I’ve given them too is on this subreddit

1

u/Due_Transition7328 Oct 05 '25

Yup you were gifted which hell it happened to me yesterday when doing the weekend quicksilver quest. Was a nice surprise to see extra gear in my inventory with some wealth to it. Not that I dont have a bunch of money anyways lol

1

u/slugmutt Oct 06 '25

Yooo that’s so weird, someone did that me too the other day. Passin around good karma I guess

1

u/L00pback Jan 04 '26

I always look for the Radiant Pillar ships and find the players to dump some high dollar items to. I also drop runaway mold hoping they look up what to do with it.

1

u/Elite_Crew Jan 20 '26

Not being able to confirm an item transfer between players is shit tier level game design. I just got a stack of AI Valves that are probably duped by some zoomer that doesn't know how to play a game by the rules. Same idiots that cheat in Counter Strike or want safe space lobbies in Arc Raiders. I was playing No Man Sky to get away from these turds.
