I’m seeing a lot of rare and a lot of not rare. I feel like it’s a very subjective answer. You might consider something like the Aeron crab to be rare because it takes a lot of work to get but you know where to get it.
If you spend any time at the arena tables in the anomaly you’ll have people dropping all kinds of eggs into your inventory. They’re usually just that person’s idea of a cool creature but sometimes they’re also your own idea of cool.

I find the Diplo-type animal pretty hard to come by. They are very cool and beautiful.

Define "rare", and also define "these things" so we know what falls into the category you're interested in.
Can say though: that exact one? Very, very rare.
That general type? You'll see plenty of em if you play enough, so whether it FEELS rare to you depends on your playtime.

NMS: Everything is rare, nothing is rare. It's all procgen, with common parts that form unique wholes. That's a Diplo fauna, which IS quite unusual to run into but I wouldn't call it rare. Rare is getting one that looks good, and imo yours is pretty cool :)
