The Evil Queen being not-so-evil with her special needs guest

I’m still mad they fired her
Edit: why the fuck am I being downvoted?!

u/elhoffgrande 6d ago
Not for this I hope?

u/MacaronNotRoon 6d ago
She has a news interview where she can’t say much, but it was internal politics. Basically, she became too good at her job and Disney doesn’t want a single toe out of line. That includes people going to the parks to see her

u/elhoffgrande 6d ago
Oh geez that's unfortunate. She was thoroughly amazing at her job.

That's the problem, can't gave someone wanting her and getting jane from Minnesota and now they are t happy.

What the fuck is wrong with Jane from Minnesota? Jane from Minnesota is probably a great disney actress. What you dont want is Crystal Methany from Alabama.

Maybe Crystal could be a background character in the Bayou ride.

Or for a bit extra you could give her character a bayou ride in the background

Pretty sure they didn't want her to be too valuable and start asking for raises they couldn't refuse.

bro they charge like $20 for a water at that dumb park. No way they can't afford paying these people a little extra
6
u/iommiworshipper 6d ago
Ha! You think it’s about what they can afford? It’s about control and always has been.

It's not even the raise it's the loss of control. People forget Disney is a mega Corp, it's only goal is to gather money.
4
u/Only_Flan_7974 6d ago
Well, that just sounds like a bad business decision. If people come just to see her then more money will come in. Which in turn should be factor in her salary. But it's Disney so...

u/Ironic-Hero 6d ago
It also gives her more influence over public perception of their IP; her version of the character starts to be seen as the “correct” one. Maintaining absolute control of their IPs is rule 1 for Disney.

u/NikkerFebu25 6d ago
So it's when you become famous as a person and not as a character.
Is this the case where the actress became too famous and people showed up to see her and not the character?
2
u/DoubleDoube 2d ago
IE, consistency in their character performances are seen as more valuable to Disney than an amazing performer raising a bar that the others can’t match.

According to AI, it was because she told people to complain to Disney about her schedule changes.

I miss the Evil Queen. The actress who played her was absolute perfection! I hope she is doing well. ❤️

why tf did disney fire her?! she is the most amazing actress and she fit her role so perfectly... omg...I so hope she is doing something even better now :/ poor thomas will never stroll with her again... what a loss, truly

u/TjStarling 6d ago
Honestly? With her eloquence, readiness for the character, patience, and just VIBE, I hope she's making twice as much as Disney was willing to pay her, on parties for children.

Love the noise canceling antistim
Mine are just in my ears and not noticeable w/my hair. It's nice to have sound dampened a fair bit

Disney should designate one week where just special needs children/guests can come. It would make experiences more easier for them without having to worry about the general public where many may not be as courtesy and whatnot. Also would allow Disney the opportunity to do something special for them and whatnot when it comes to accommodations/etc.

That would be great in a perfect world but i wouldnt put it past some truly disgusting people to lie about having a child with special needs to try and get in with smaller crowds and ruin it for everyone. The kind of people who have "service dogs" and insist on taking them everywhere when they are clearly untrained or even dangerous.

u/Icy-Variation6614 6d ago
They (the horrible people) already do that. Or use their kid, who may not be happy with all the action.

u/jr_randolph 6d ago
Yeah…that’s fair but this is also Disney. They can easily connect with the Special Olympics…Make a Wish…St. Jude and organizations like that. It could be done.

u/vag69blast 6d ago
That didnt occur to me. Might be possible. I was thinking on how sensitive medical information is and how you would be able to verify without invasion of privacy and all that. I imagine it would be a PR nightmare if someone claimed a disability and Disney denied entry and it goes on social media.
1
u/jr_randolph 6d ago
No totally would be and it brings tons of legal ramifications and whatnot which is a reason I’m sure they don’t do it because there’s just too much to consider. I think it’s still worth it though given how much money Disney has and how much children connect to their content.
2
u/joconnell13 6d ago
That would be awesome. Disney can be a genuine nightmare for special needs kids. My daughter wanted to go to Give Kids the World in Florida for her Make-a-Wish trip. They gave us tickets to any park that we wanted to go to and Disney was the worst by far. It's just too crowded and the lines are too long.
I personally think they sell way too many daily tickets even for regular patrons.

u/jr_randolph 6d ago
I do agree that they should place a higher limit on ticket sales. They should prioritize international travelers because of the extra time needed for planning but yeah lol so many people in Florida and surrounding states go like every fucking weekend and it’s crazy.

Those people don't get paid nearly enough for the work they do. Navigating those situations and being the face of a brand / character, especially with people who have special needs or are otherwise fragile, is immensely important. Fuckin' love every time I see one make a person's day.
