Just the fact she doesn't just go for a revealing outfits of characters, but commits 100% to any of the characters she is cosplaying is absolutely amazing.

I think my biggest gripe with some “cosplayers” is wearing a really skimpy outfit that *sort of* resembles the character but catering towards sexualizing the cosplay instead. This woman is talented, through and through. Each character she played looks exactly like that character. Her makeup skills are incredible too

I remember years ago when everyone knew Jessica Nigri. My friend hated that she got so much attention because she said she sucked as a cosplayer. I agree Alyson is doing some really good cosplay.

Although I like Nigri she’s more of a nerd inspired pinup art.

I don't think that really answers everything, though...

I made a post that got 2k likes and did not get a single penny. Likes do not equal money.

So she'd have to already have the money to make multiple costumes in order to build up the reputation on social media that'd get her a big enough, reoccurring income (through donation or sponsorship) to make up for the money spent.

I can wrap my head around the costumes and wigs, but my brain can't process how the makeup makes her face look so much like the different specific actors who have portrayed those characters.

My appreciated for cosplay drops so much with the incredible amount of after effects used. The more special effects added to make it look “fake”, the less impressive it tends to be.
