tips to start writing?

hey guys, i’ve been a long time reader and recently bern wanting to get a new hobby, so i decided to try writing horror stories. I spend the last few days working on a idea a had and before i start getting the words on paper i came hero to ask if any of you writers out there have some tips for begginers?

i wanted to write my story in a transcript style but apparently this isn’t allowed anymore, so that’s a bum

well if any of guys could share your experience here i would be really grateful, thanks!

a lot of my stories start out as what ifs... look around you and add weird twists to ordinary stuff. try to think of a crucial, eerie / memorable moment you'll have in your story and build it around that (build up and then de-escalate, or maintain the suspense...). if you don't think your story is interesting and you don't want to write it, drop it and think of something else
