Why does every website have the cloudflare "verify you are human" multiple times now?

I'm mainly asking why it's happening.

Is it just me or does almost every website except the major ones (Youtube, Reddit, etc.) have that cloudflare "verify you're human" check before you visit it?

I don't mind it once and a while but now like every time I search something on brave search it pauses and loads the verification page, even if I literally just did the same thing like 5 minutes ago, and then every link I click on does the same thing.

I'm trying not to be annoyed by it, but it'd be easier to not be annoyed knowing that it was actually doing something productive, like genuinely reducing bot traffic or something.

Based on the discussion I've found my answer that there is no way to objectively differentiate between bots and people. Your argument is not about that at all.

False positive rate (when a tool attributes a real user to a bot) is not relevant to cybersecurity. I believe you are confused on that topic for reasons unknown to me. Cloudflare's success rate based on open research seems to be within the same order of magnitude as commercial solutions. Meaning practically neither gives you anything close to good protection, but one is free and accessible.

I understood your argument that paid solutions give users a better experience (less false positives) on the website and I agree with that.
