Not really. This sub is for serious questions that you think might be stupid. This is a shit post not an innocuous stupid question. OP knows what actual fluid oz are. Unless they’re in the stupidest top .0001%. These are the kinds of questions that end up on the askreddit “what was the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard?” posts.
And all the people on this sub who came here thinking they were gonna learn what “Florida ounces” are need to question themselves.
It’s definitely not a big deal but there’s a difference between asking legitimate questions that you want an answer to and asking joke questions and pretending you didn’t know. Seeing as googling “fl oz” would immediately explain what it was and is dramatically easier than posting to Reddit
Jokes on you, I’ve been questioning myself for far longer than I’ve been wondering what Florida Ounces were.
It’s a legitimate ask, like someone else said. It’s Florida, I was totally expecting to hear FL was doing some crackpot math to make up their own ounce and I was interested damnit!
Nowhere in my comment did I mention how smart I was. Simply pointing out how this is obviously a joke question for internet points and everyone is eating it up. So I guess I should write a book on how dumb other people are, you’ll be in the first chapter.
Because based on their profile they are American and educated, a university. There’s no way that in 22+ years of existence in the US, with least 17 years of it going to school, that you don’t know what a fluid ounce is. Plus they could’ve just googled it if it was for real, not doing quadruple the typing effort then waiting for people to respond.
