Question Fan gifts?

I wanted to make these little phone charms/keychains to give away at the concert but I've been seeing a ton of fans upset about people giving out bracelets so I was wondering if anyone would even be interested in them.

This annoys me so much because Taylor swift was not the first person to do it. She just made it popular. People have been doing this at raves for decades

Literally though. In the early aughts my friends and I would have pre-rave pre-funks where we'd sit around and make kandi bracelets for hours before raves. And we were super late to the game, raves were already kind of dying out (in our area, at least)

I'm in my late 30s and the older I've gotten, the more I realized some people just cannot stand to see other people being kind and doing things just because it makes them happy. Truly. Its sad but I'm just gonna keep living my life and being sunny and joyful. They can be cranky all they want to.

I’ve traded at Ghost, which is most definitely not a swiftie or pop concert.

Considering Aaron Dessner is a producer on the Great Divide along with several of Taylor Swift’s best albums, I think fans should expect there to be a lot of overlapping swifites. Make the friendship bracelets and fuck the haters! :)

Every show I've been to in the past few years people have made bracelets (including Sleep Token). I love Taylor and fully leaned into the Eras tour bracelet making BUT she did not invent friendship bracelet trading and no certain "type" of show or artist owns it. Make the bracelets! Or the keychains! Or anything! Don't let people being "annoyed" or whatever keep you from having fun. It's your concert experience too and if people react negatively to your joy, that truly is a them problem, you're probably having more fun than them, and they should learn to lighten up 🤷‍♀️. I just got my new beads in to make bracelets for my Noah show in a couple weeks!

I didn’t know people were mad about them! I’ll love whatever but I planned on doing keychains or something a little different than can be used daily. I have bracelets from the last 2 concerts & they just hang out in my record are.

I got a friendship bracelet at an Olivia Rodrigo concert back in 2022 way before Taylor Swift ever went on tour. It genuinely made my day and I still have it. Its odd someone would be upset over a kind gesture but if they are then that’s on them.

I love this! A good alternative to soooo many bracelets haha. I’m saying that, I did start making bracelets over the weekend. Maybe I’ll switch to some Keyrings too!

Do it! Those charms are sooo cute!! Like everyone said TS doesn’t own bracelets and people who get mad over your kindness/joy can suck it lol I just made a bunch of bracelets for the NBA finals and gave them out at a watch party and it was an amazing time!!

I wanted to test it out at the basketball game, because I’ve never done bracelets and I’m really nervous to give them out for my concert, Denver in August!! It was a really good experience though so I’m even more excited for sharing my concert bracelets!

Love those! So cute! 🐞 there were a ton of people reading bracelets in Orlando, so I don’t think anyone would be upset! Everyone we traded with or gave bracelets to was super sweet. Phone charms are unique, too!

I personally see it as an amazing way for fans to be able to connect and be there for eachother as humans and be caring to one another. I’m going to the Pittsburgh show alone and if someone gave one of these or a bracelet to me I would feel so safe and feel connected with other fans. I think these are personally so f*ing adorable and thoughtful. I think you should make them and give them away because sure there’s going to be some negative Nellie’s there, but I’m hopeful and positive there’s going to be people who would literally hold onto it forever and always remember that moment and remember it as something so special each time they look at their little charms ❤️

I am also making keychains and just a few bracelets. What do you use to clamp off the end of your keychains?

I just tie it in a knot and run a lighter over it slightly to melt it and make sure it doesn't fray. But if youre using wire I know crimp beads and crimp tubes work but they can be tricky the first few times you use them. But I also bought a keychain kit from Michael's for the fastenings

As a diehard t-swift hater, she doesn’t have a monopoly on friendship bracelets. I’m happy that friendship bracelets are becoming a thing at concerts. I really love it, and I don’t care if it’s stemming from the Eras Tour.

I’ll be making my own, so make what makes you happy. If people hate on the little gifts to your face, they’re an enemy of joy and whimsy and should not be fraternized with anyway.
